You can probably sleep in the dumpster behind PetLand for free too, but that doesn’t mean you should. 🤷♀️
On our $39/day trip we tried to Stupak our freeplay at Circa, splitting the bets between red and black. The wheel hit zero. 🤔🕵️♂️🧐
Circus Circus is a real-life version of the movie Backrooms. Strange architecture, giant open spaces, hallways to nowhere, odd collections of unused furniture. Explore with us on our latest episode touring the Casinos That Time Forgot. neongutter.com/2026/10/13/se…

Some people say we are stuck in the past. Well, many Las Vegas casinos certainly are. Join us as we explore "The Casinos that Time Forgot" on our latest episode. neongutter.com/2026/10/13/se…
Bad VP, and even tighter slots than the Strip. Bad blackjack rules, few true craps tables. We spend a lot of time downtown, but this is not the value it was 20 years ago. Are we wrong? Thank god for Sigma Derby.
Take note. Best time of year to book a trip.
I'm booking a 2-night solo trip between NFR and Christmas (highlight: @DebbieGibson at Strat). All-in hotel rates (shown with MGM's $50 F&B discounts) are wildly out of step vis-a-vis hotel quality. I'm a cheapskate, but even on a solo trip I'll spend $10 more a night on Cosmo.

When it’s all said and done, the plan is for the trail to — eventually — extend all the way to Losee, connecting North Las Vegas to Henderson with 45 miles of fully paved, fully lit trail for walkers, runners and cyclists following the 215 Beltway around the valley. #8NN 8newsnow.com/news/local-news…
When these two guys talk, we listen. Unlike when Burt talks.
Yesterday, Matt at American Casino Guide Book and I discussed Las Vegas table game limits and how competitive the off-Strip casinos around Flamingo Road have become. Matt and I always have great talks. You can watch the video here: youtu.be/kIUubZplybE

We told you Cleopatra would be back and she’s back (sans barge)! Caesars Palace created a new space with lots of memorabilia in honor of its 60th anniversary. Six of the most-repainted lucky charms in Vegas now on display, near FedEx in the Appian Way.

9. A letter slipped under the doors of guests at the Luxor in Las Vegas alerting them that the attacks have taken place.
Did you know you can get free notarized documents with your resort fee at Virgin? It’s true. And it’s also one of the more bizarre resort fee amenities.
In the 90s, we once saw Tiger Woods playing blackjack with Bruce Willis in the high limit room at The Rio. All three are a little worse for wear today, as are we.
There are a LOT of crazy things to be seen in casinos, but piggybacking on your Wemby/Spears sighting, I have my own celebrity encounter…
Shortly after the Bellagio grand opening, I was playing BJ there when I noticed this huge group of bow-tied, suit-wearing men walking down the main aisle of the table games area. I could tell that SOMEONE was in the middle of all of them, but I couldn’t see who it was.
The entourage was definitely getting everyone’s attention, and eventually I saw Jay-Z sit down at an empty BJ table that had apparently been reserved for him.
The men appeared to be security and part of the Nation of Islam. About half of them stood facing away from Jay-Z in a semicircle around the BJ table, while the others positioned themselves out in the aisle, standing watch and looking in both directions.
I have no idea if Bellagio even had a high-limit room back then…I didn’t have the money to even worry about such things 🤣 but Jay-Z sat there and played blackjack right on the main casino floor!
Definitely one of those random Vegas memories I’ve never forgotten.
And Burt answered.

"Paging Mr. Cohen, Mr. Burton Cohen, please" was heard in the background over the Desert Inn's intercom throughout the series as a running gag on the TV series "Vega$". Burton Cohen was the real-life President of the Desert Inn, the base location for the series. The man himself finally shows up at the end of season 2.
