Memorials and sculptures on an ebike round from Langholm via Tarras Valley and the Debatable Land. Hen harriers, merlin and even a rare sighting of the tailwind. Good descents too...
Furness-tastic day on the ebikes twixt Ulverston and Barrow on the #BayCycleWay . Saw a little owl too... #CyclingMorecambeBay
...and there was even some Portsoy stilin' for @LakesStiles
Delightful ecycling along @SustransScot #NCN1 by the Moray Firth. No skinks were harmed by our lunch from Cullen Co-op...

Delightful Dales day on the ebikes: blue skies; skylarks; limestone; water avens; memory's lanes; the rush of wind; globe flowers; curlews at lunchtime; a village cricket match; early purple orchids...even heard a wood warbler!

An oystercatcher loving the machair in bloom!
The machair (coastal grassland that hugs the beach) is a haven for wildlife. In the summer it's covered in assorted wildflowers and it's simply an amazing place to see and walk through!

I never met her, and never finished reading Full Tilt, but the fact that "that Irish lady rode her bike alone across continents" was an enormous inspiration to me when I first started cycle touring. So I find myself having a bit of a cry at the death of Dervla Murphy.

They say you shouldn’t meet your heroes but in this case they couldn’t have been more wrong. Dervla Murphy listened with a super human curiosity and challenged any whisper of inequality with razor sharp wit and well informed arguments. A true inspiration. irishtimes.com/culture/books… – at Aboyne, Scotland

The #CaledoniaWay's a cracker of a route...
A lovely spot to wait for the ferry... Another update from Lesley!
"Bright & cold, with a bitter north wind. Route 78 fantastic on old railway line & beautiful woods & nature reserve. How quickly things change from sunshine to blizzard! Thanks to @Sustrans for a great route."
Finally checked out the "new" section of #CaledoniaWay near Duror: smooth tarmac, the "world's largest bug hotel" and lots of Lobarion on the trees. Well done @SustransScot: much nicer than the busy road!
The Butt of Lewis. End of the @Hebridean_Way cycling route. Supposedly Britain's windiest spot but calm and sunny today...seabirds aplenty and was that a lost black redstart at the lighthouse?
