I'm happy to announce the publication of my newest article in Music Theory Spectrum. This was a total blast to write -- it's about how Byrd used hexachordal solmization to produce all sorts of amazing effects in his motets. Check it out! academic.oup.com/mts/advance…
Me and my friends watching @nmitchell076's video, jaws on the floor: "How did he do that?? How did he do THAT???? Wait, look at that!!! How ... ????"
And a brilliant, sophisticated argument to boot!
I hope y'all enjoy the visuals. Frankly, I spent way too much of last summer bashing my head against After Effects to work it all out. But I'm extremely proud of the result! Thanks to @theorymeg for her generous editorial work as well.
I'm absolutely thrilled to announce this 🔥 video by @nmitchell076 released today! Animal Crossing, #ludomusicology, topic theory, and more. Check it out! youtube.com/watch?v=hH0OjrJf…
