I’ve now got a recording of my talk at the latest @lrug; this isn’t a talk on Ruby, it’s a talk about how experienced programmers solve problems, and what that means about how we think and communicate as human beings. I hope you enjoy it! 💖 assets.lrug.org/videos/2024/…
Mixin 0.8.5 released quickly yesterday to fix a problem with the JPMS module imports being incompatible with Minecraft 1.18.
This release also includes some AP improvements which were already in the snapshots. Release notes are here: github.com/SpongePowered/Mix…
Should I be more proactive in announcing Mixin updates here? I don't know, but for the 3 of you who care: Mixin 0.8.4 was just released.
I wrote about the new stuff, and some bonus waffle about Local Capture: github.com/SpongePowered/Mix…

Streaming Minecraft at 8PM (UK time) over at the usual place (twitch.tv/brackishbrit) because despite playing for yeeeears, I still haven't killed the Ender Dragon properly! Come say hi, I am legitimately kinda buzzing about getting this started!

Sometimes it can feel like the thing you're working on is complete and utter crap. These are four things you should remember, to remind you why you're not a good judge of character of your own work.

It's been a long journey but Mixin 0.8 is finally out of preview and released into the wild to roam free! I don't normally do release notes but so much has changed that I thought it was worthwhile.
Check out what's new here: github.com/SpongePowered/Mix…
In case anyone was wondering why I finally started joining discord. This is why. It also supports custom themes with a simple json file so if (like me) you find that modern aesthetic grey-on-grey "dark" modes aren't dark enough, you have freedom!
Here it is, at long last:
Ripcord, the cross-platform, not-a-web-browser desktop client for Slack (and Discord.) Shareware is back.

The morphing of the word "creator" from meaning the people who make games to the people who play them will never not irk me.
We’re expanding the ways you can support your favorite Creators! Find all the details here: epicgames.com/fortnite/news/…
So apparently while I was at Gamescom last week the LiteLoader installer passed the 10mil direct downloads mark. I realise those are rookie numbers compared to some other projects out there, but it feels satisfying to me.

This is in regards to what appears to be a sham operation called BullyHunters which made up false data about harassment rates of women in gaming and then accused anyone of actually looking into the data as being a misogynist and likely harassed themselves.

I'm considering extending my plugin to maintain support for older versions (currently I only support latest and EAP), so I'd like to know if that effort is even worth it. @intellijidea users, what version of IntelliJ do you actively use?
30%2018.1 EAP
68%2017.3
2%2017.1 or 2017.2
0%2016.3 or earlier

Another public note as the emails flood in, I've seen the Andrew Watt situation, taking me a good look.
SidAlpha is contentious for sure, but I'm unnerved at the idea YouTube is letting "privacy violation" be an excuse for shutting down critical videos. youtube.com/watch?v=-1J6lQKh…
