Earlier on June 14, officers responded to an apartment in the 100 block of 3rd Street after two people kicked in the door and assaulted a man identified as “D.W.,” who jumped out a rear window. 🚨Dash Cam Footage Leads to Murder Charges in West Palm Beach Shooting William Dunkley, 42, of Loxahatchee, has been charged with first-degree murder with a firearm and attempted armed robbery in the death of 30-year-old Jared Auer. Just before 4 a.m. on June 15, 2025, officers responded to the 1200 block of Old Okeechobee Road after a 911 call about a man passed out in a car. They found Auer in the driver’s seat with a gunshot wound to the head; he was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center and later died. A spent .40 caliber shell casing was recovered on the roadway. Auer’s dash cam showed that at 3:33 a.m. he parked, three men including Dunkley approached and spoke with him, one opened the driver’s door and struggled, and one shot at Auer as he tried to back away. The suspects fled toward the Hideaway nightclub.
