Hiking this week with good friend, advisor and mentor, Yuval Rooz. Yuval is the Co-Founder/CEO of DigitalAsset.com, amongst the leading enterprise blockchain firms globally, building the rails/plumbing for the evolution of the world's financial system. Yuval started the firm in 2014, together with trading legend Don Wilson, behind Chicago powerhouse Cumberland/DRW, and has since raised $317m from the top investors globally. Working closely with all the biggest stock exchanges, banks and firms. Businesses from Citibank, Nasdaq, JP Morgan, BNP, Santander and many others. His co-founder Shaul Kfir, co-authored the C++ library for creating zkSNARK(zero-knowledge) proofs, and Eric Saraniecki, has been in crypto since 2010/2011, setting up the DRW Crypto desk. Eric recently shared with me some incredible insights and perspectives on Unit Network too. DigitalAsset is a major player and node of the Canton Network, the first privacy-enabled open blockchain network. It connects and bridges many of the leading institutions globally. Canton allows private and public applications to have the same benefits as if they were sharing a single L1 protocol, without having to share validators or data, with granular privacy at the sub-transaction level. We've climbed and skied mountains together, from the hills of Hong Kong(couple times this week), to Volcanoes in Indonesia, Burning Man in Nevada, to St Moritz/Davos in Switzerland and more. Yuval is an early supporter, investor and advisor to Unit Network. We've hosted events together in San Francisco, Davos, Bali, New York City, Moscow and other cities. He got me a ticket to the Hong Kong Fin-Tech Week in 2019 alongside celebrating my birthday, we celebrated New Year’s Eve, going into 2020 together. He recently invited me to a lunch with the leading industry players in Hong Kong too. Excited to announce the first "Unit Pizza Day" on Thursday, 31st of October 2024. The idea is simple: 1) Get a pizza for someone, friend or someone online, delivered or in person 2) Take a picture with the pizza and receipt(showing date/cost) 3) Post it on social media 4) Will personally, send you an equivalent amount in UNIT, up to $100. This is inspired by programmer Laszlo Hanyecz who bought two pizzas for 10,000 BTC by posting on Bitcoin Talk. The first two digits of the math constant, Pi(3.14) is 31, so the 31st of the month is perfect. It's "Unit Pi(zza) day". Very interesting - Bitcoin spent much of the first two years(2009/2010), from $0.05 in Aug 2010 to $1.70 in May 2011. With a market cap of between $241k in July 2010, $8m in May 2011. I remember clearly when Bitcoin crossed $1, and imagining how much more it could grow. Excited to see where the Unit Network Token Economy goes.

What happens when robots/AI replace your job, automate all work? That’ll be great. Unit Network will distribute all value created, to 8B people globally, including you. Less than 24 hours to go, till the next generation of the Unit Network goes live. 24-10-24. Reminds me of the early days of Bitcoin(2010/2011). People were excited, knowing the economic revolution was coming. Though, couldn't quite grasp the potential and growth of it. Unit Network takes this up a notch. So proud of our Unit team, building this technical masterpiece, and work of art. One of the most advanced permission-less decentralised apps, in the entire world. Something normal people can use, and benefit from. Significant step up, from current blockchain apps. Very excited, for the societal benefits and opportunities, this technology will bring. It will take the currently speculative $2 trillion crypto economy, to the mainstream. Talk is focused on building the cooperative economy - how blockchain tokenisation, powered by Unit Network, will play a crucial role in solving wealth inequity, and tackling climate change. By aligning stakeholder interest, and allowing more money/value to flow productively around the economy. Organised by old friends, Sean Lee Davies and Steph L Dickson, who have successfully brought the "Conscious Festival" globally, to Paris, Singapore, New York, Hong Kong - exploring wellness, leadership, technology, and consciousness. The summit, is organised in partnership with "New World Development", one of the major family run property businesses, in Hong Kong, led by the 3rd richest billionaire in HK, Henry Cheng, worth $22.1B. They own the beautiful Rosewood hotels, and the stunning K11 venue, where the conference is held. New World was led by Adrian Cheng, who did an incredible job with creating K11, and has a strong interest in blockchain, art and crypto. We're both part of the same web3 collective in Hong Kong called 8DAO. Got introduced to it, by old friend Jeff Ren, chairman of OKX, and leading OKX Ventures. Excited for Unit Network to be a major player in the Asia region. New World has been struggling lately, with the property market and economy in China/HK plummeting, hopefully will pick up. Hong Kong, has had a terrible few years, post-covid and the protest whilst still holding on to be Asia's major financial hub, ranked 3rd globally, behind New York and London. When I was based in HK in 2019, was one of the most happening and fun places to be in the world, and great for business/lifestyle. One of my favourite places in Asia, very similar to New York, with more nature and with a British/Asia influence. Would be interesting to see what happens next, as the Chinese economy ramps up in the year ahead, with the government starting to launch initiative to stimulate the economy. Though, Chinese investors and entrepreneurs have lost lots of confidence, and are investing abroad. Hong Kong can be well positioned for that, as the bridge between China and the rest of the world. We'll be announcing more on the $HONGKONG token/DAO, as part of the City Tokens on the Unit Network. Hong Kong has a long history with crypto, major firms - Binance, OKX, FTX, Cardano, Bitmex, Crypto(.)com and others, got started in the city, with the significant capital/investor base, being english speaking, and a good place to tap into the Chinese market from. Though, seems Singapore and Dubai have taken pole position recently as leading innovation/crypto hubs. Looking forward to Unit Network, becoming a household name in the year ahead, and personally being much more present, speaking at all the major technology events, and sponsoring the major gatherings globally. Grateful to witness history! Caught Paris Summer Olympics highlight, the 100 meter sprint. Won by the Noah Lyles, first American to win Gold in 20 years. First time in history, seven men crossed the line, in under 9.90 seconds. Lyles ran it, in 9.784 seconds, beating Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson by five-thousandths of a second. Luck or skill? Happened to be in Paris, and scored some tickets, so invited good friend Albert, a successful Dutch real estate investor, who was in Paris. He recorded the video. Paris did such an incredible job with the Olympics . Great way to bring the world together! Unfortunate geopolitics, but excited for the growth of sport, healthy living and more positive news. Have so much respect for Olympians and athletes. On the plane after, sat next to the Korean shooting/badminton team, met shooter Kim Ye-ji, who became a popular meme. They said, would be warmly welcomed, if visiting Korea, and shared stories of the decades of dedication and sacrifice to lead them to that point. Which Olympic sport would you compete in? I would pick, triathlon, tennis or athletics. In the UK, won my school cross country championship, love racket sports like tennis/squash. Have done a couple Ironman triathlons/marathons, was ranked 3rd nationally for triathlons in Singapore, growing up. Love the mental and physical challenge. Years ago, became friends, with 2nd fastest long-distance UK runner, Andy Butchart, just behind Mo Farah. We met on a plane from London to NYC. He qualified for the 5km finals of the 2020 and 2016 Olympics, but was injured for 2024. Recently, visited him in Scotland, closely collaborating with him, to get Team Great Britain, and all olympians, on the Unit Network and the token economy. He is close friends with Tennis star, Andy Murray too. My father, Paul, used to run alongside MP/gold medalist, Sebastian Coe, at Loughborough University, and co-founder, Kat, was one of the fastest middle distance runner(800m/1500m) in Europe. I went to school in Singapore (ACSI), with the only gold medalist that Singapore has produced, Joseph Schooling. He beat Michael Phelps in 2016, was 2 years below me, and won all the swim meets at school. Excited for a future, where all Olympians and Athletes are tokenised on Unit Network. Given how many, are just making ends meet, despite being the best in the world at what they do, this future economy would allow them to thrive, whilst doing what they love!
