You can break down, analyze, and explore a film as much as you want. I think that’s part of the fun of cinema. Every audience brings their own experiences, perspectives, and ways of understanding a story. We may watch the same film and come away with entirely different readings.

Every film serves a different purpose. Some challenge you to think, others are simply there to entertain. Both have their place in cinema, a completely different section.

There’s a discourse, but I think people should just be proud of their favorite film. You’re the audience, after all. You don’t have to choose classics or critically acclaimed films to prove your taste is above everyone else’s. Enjoy what you enjoy. There’s no competition in that.
