I'm a little confused: why could Gaza dig the world's most extensive military tunnel network, but not a sewage system?

Salon wrote some of the best satire we've ever seen. If these brilliant humorists couldn't keep the lights on, what does that mean for the rest of us?

.@antonioguterres You allowed this barking mad lunatic and her friends to bring the United Nations into disrepute, and this shall be marked in the history books as your legacy.

🚨 EL-SAYED REFUSES TO BACK SCHUMER FOR SENATE MAJORITY LEADER
Michigan Senator-elect Abdul El-Sayed declined to endorse Chuck Schumer for Democratic Senate leader, despite Schumer’s support for his campaign.
“I do believe we need new leadership and I think people are hungry for it,” El-Sayed declared.
The outspoken Israel critic signals growing divisions within the Democratic Party over its leadership and direction.

Outside the El-Sayed victory party, they were not chanting about lower prices for gas or bananas. They were screaming “Free, Free Palestine!” This is the last thing murdered Jews hear, and now there's a permission structure for violence against us. These are dark days for Michigan's Jews.

One might think that what’s ostensibly a Jewish paper , they could come up with a list of far more deserving candidates
The @nytimes seems to have used the same fact checking and vetting in the Jews for Abdul story that they did with the @NickKristof dog canard

In this list of "Jewish leaders" there are five rabbis. One "is the first rabbi to lead a Unitarian Universalist Congregation."
None lead mainstream congregations.
One leads a tiny Reconstructionist group that meets in a church.
Another is part-time, leading a small congregation in part-time services every other week.
The other two have no congregations.
There is also a Reverend Lauren Zinn, who was ordained by an interfaith program and doesn't purport to be any sort of Jewish clergy.
And like half the people who signed don't even provide their last names, so you have no idea if they are Jews are even real.
This is what I call news by press release, where some fringe group issues a press release and gullible or willful media outlets print it like it's real news.
NYT: The letter, signed by more than 500 people who identify as Jewish leaders or voters in Michigan, says that the election of Abdul El-Sayed, is “clearly the better choice for Jews” compared with Trump MAGA Republican Mike Rogers.

While I can tolerate ( for lack of a better term ) the moral finger wagging from actors and rock stars , it’s the faux outrage and moral preening from the Pod Save America guys that I find particularly grating #Michigan
