Steam Next Fest recap: did the demo hype carry over to launch?
We tracked the most-watched demos from June’s Next Fest, then checked how those games did on stream in their first 30 days after release.
Mistfall Hunter led both times. Its demo pulled 1.5M hours watched, and the full game hit 12M after launch.
The biggest climber was Mortal Shell II. It ranked 14th among the demos that have since launched, then finished 2nd at launch with 6.7M hours.
A strong Next Fest showing helps, but it doesn't decide the launch rankings.
