Fix Your Shoulder šŸ‘‰šŸ¼

Introducing 30 days of shoulder health. For the next 30 days (weekdays only), I’m going to share one observation per day from the frontlines of shoulder health. I have the privilege of running a rehab clinic, specializing in shoulder rehab, where patients have experienced the effectiveness of progressive rehab, where I’ve seen the biggest challenges they face post-surgery, and have developed deep transformations with patients of all athletic backgrounds (novice, advanced, experienced, retired) and sports (baseball, bodybuilding, CrossFit, oly, and most recently Hyrox), I get to help hundreds of patients a year, and I want to bring that help to those tired of cookie cutter programs and oversold claims who want a solution to shoulder health. There’s just one rule: 1) Each day is actionable & understandable. First post coming later.

What do you post about on X? (Twitter). - Getting men to dress a little hotter / a lot sluttier so their girlfriends / wives (future girlfriends/ wives) will find them v attractive and want to make babies with them therefore increasing the declining birth rate and saving humanity.

A new contender appears! How do we reach adaptation? One must train hard, BUT they must also recover properly right? So the question then becomes, can you have adaptation to training without recovery? In the short term.. yes. In the long term… not without repercussions.
No. 3rd variable: adaptation. Where the two collide.

It’s a matter of time before AI access is restricted by price. Soon an AI Bot will cost just as much as an employee.

What do you think… Is training more important than recovery, or recovery more important than training?

IMO Training is important, as it challenges the tissues, and breaks them down. But without RECOVERY, we miss the rebuilding of those tissues. It is during RECOVERY where you build tolerance and capacity, where your body adapts. Recovery is just as important as training itself, learning how to improve your recovery will yield to better training.

Ohhh the good ol question about peptides!!

Strength training in youth athletes? YES!

Ten clients got in peptides last week. Not a single one of them was given a dose or protocol to follow. Shame on these med companies charging $700/mo leaving their patients to figure it out on their own. Luckily they have me.

I’ve heard the phrase ā€œ I used to bench/press [insert weight] when I was in my 20sā€ probably over 757 times. It’s usually followed by, ā€œall the heavy lifting ruined my shoulder.ā€ And THAT is BS.

With now over 400 lifters going through our shoulder program, we know it wasn’t the heavy lifting, but the lack of understanding how the shoulder really moves.

Eating enough calories doesn't mean you're fueled. Endurance athletes ate the same calories and protein on two diets: 607 vs 117 g carbs/day. After 4 days of low carb, most hormones held. But a marker of bone breakdown went up, and effort + cycling efficient got worse.

Sleeping positions are often blamed for neck and shoulder pain. Maybe 10% of cases are right. What’s driving the other 90%?

Everyone is talking about @bot on X just like they were talking about @claudeai a few months ago. All hype with general uses. Don’t get me wrong… I’m a massive fan of GrokBot and I have ten agents currently working on my two businesses and a few investments. But all these people writing articles about the best use of the bots just recycled their past articles for any other AI, and that’s why your bots won’t serve you well.

I’ve fallen down the running rabbit hole. Mostly because we’ve had a lot of youth/kids wanting to get faster. The one thing we keep practicing are the basics of cadence and speed. And we practice super slow.
Slow running is the connective tissue of training. A good routine has a few hard workouts, more moderate workouts & plenty of easy to tie it all together. Walking, shuffling, jogging, whatever it looks like. That’s how you recover & absorb the big days and make it all work.

I knew someone who had 4 gym memberships because each gym had ONE machine they loved. Is that a little excessive?
39
Gym maturity is realizing there’s many ways to train one area. It’s just depends what your gym has available.
Gym maturity is realizing you don’t have to do Deadlifts AT ALL You can just do 45° Extensions and get all the pros of a Deadlift with NONE of cons How is it about to be 2027 and so many people STILL haven’t figured this out yet???

I must be the outlier here. I don’t want to say my parent are fat (they are not the fittest) but at 37, I am fitter than my dad was at this age. While parents PLAY a massive role, once a kid begins to be their own person and be aware of their situation, if they continue to be fat… is it really because of their parents? Or their surroundings?
Fat parents = fat kids Fit parents = fit kids A tale as old as time

Insurance companies trying to get one of my clients to sign a form saying he doesn’t want to be in network has got to be the biggest red flag. And this is why we are a cash based. No insurance should dictate what type of care you should get.

GrokBot has definitely sped up a lot of admin work for us. Claude still amazing for coding and Chat has quite surprised me with image generation. It sure makes me wonder… how long will AI be affordable for small businesses and the gen pop?
I connected my Grokbot to my FitnessPal. Now I just tell Grokbot what I ate in plain language. And then it inputs it precisely into my FitnessPal. A little bit of a hack. But it definitely saves time, makes it a lot easier, and still retains the precision.
