The best upgrade of 1997 isn't 56k. It's AI. Describe the website you would like the computer to build for you. Please do not pick up the telephone.

We are offering five PAID, full-time slots in our Associate-in-training program. This program is for the most driven fanatics, out of school (or sometimes, but rarely, career-changing), who want to work 60/70+ hours a week to become legendary venture capitalists — and who don't want to wait in line. You work directly with my team around the globe, learning every aspect of venture: sourcing deals, first calls, due diligence, fund formation, LP relations, secondary sales, exits, follow-on funding, running @FounderUni, running the LAUNCH Accelerator, legal documents, and, most importantly, EXECUTIVE training. This is Navy SEALs-level training... START EARLY, END LATE. Austin, in person. It's intense, seven days a week for two years... exhausting work. Your brain will melt. Half the folks tap out and ring the bell in the first year. The other half become legends. PLEASE DON'T APPLY UNLESS YOU'RE HARDCORE AND YOU ARE WILLING TO MAKE THIS YOUR LIFE. You can pay @KauffmanFellows $80,000 for two years, or you can come work for me and get ~2x that in two years -- if you make it through.
This spring, we began recruiting for our new VC Associate-In-Training program. ~500 applications later, we kicked off our first cohort with five strong. 💪 And we’re launching our second! 🚀 If you prove yourself, you’ll get a seat at the table and learn more with us than at any other VC firm. Apply 👉 careers.launch.co/jobs/resea…

Sequoia's thesis that the next $1T company will sell work, not software, is the most important reframe in AI right now. The argument: if you sell a copilot, you're competing with every new model release. But if you sell the outcome — books closed, contracts reviewed, claims handled — every AI improvement makes your margins better, not your product obsolete. The key insight most people miss: for every $1 spent on software, ~$6 is spent on services. The entire SaaS playbook was about capturing the software dollar. The AI playbook is about capturing the services dollar — at software margins. Not "AI for accountants." The AI accounting firm. Not "AI for lawyers." The AI law firm. The companies that figure this out won't look like SaaS companies. They'll look like services firms rebuilt on software infrastructure. That's a fundamentally different company to build, fund, and scale. And most founders are still building copilots.

Codex is so good, and is going to get so amazing. I am having a hard time imagining what creating software at the end of 2026 is going to look like.

It is officially game OVER! Wan Animate (fully open source) is definitely a SOTA model. The fidelity of the image is like nothing I have seen so far. The relight LoRA does a phenomenal job as well with enhancing environmental lighting & integration. What’s missing?

Startups are hard. Personally: Started in Dec 2004, exited in Sept 2016 then worked for them for 4 years. 16 years journey! We had 5M users on our gamer communication app before Discord, and they still won. Survived 2007 crash after burning most of our Series A cash when the music stopped. Went from getting 20 investors meetings a week to 0 for a year. Luckily found 2 angels who bridged us from death. We had 6 weeks of cash with 20 employees. I've never had so much stomach pain episodes in my life than during that time. First product stalled at $5M. Built multiple others that each stalled at $10M+ between 2004–2015. (forums and wiki platform, YT network, Ad networks) I had to reinvent the company many times. Reddit destroyed all our forum traffic. Made every hiring mistake possible early. In 2008, our main investor tried to convince me to step down and bring in an “adult” CEO. I walked out of the meeting lol. Dealt with multiple frivolous lawsuits, one even served a day before Christmas. I never thought about quitting once
