I'll follow the path if it's going my way. Otherwise you'll find me hacking through the undergrowth or flying through the canopy.

Pure fluff. No weights = not open. Not even any info on training data. Arguably less transparent than Google who at least give some detail about training in their papers even if they don’t release code.
Twitter’s Recommendation Source Code Twitter has open-sourced much of their recommendation source code, a first for a large social media company! Would love to see more of this blogpost: blog.twitter.com/en_us/topic… github: github.com/twitter/the-algor… ml github: github.com/twitter/the-algor…

I feel properly scammed by Virgin Media Business @vmbusiness. Paid over the odds for a slower service on the promise that faults get fixed quickly. Just been told that they won't even send an engineer for a whole week, let alone fix🤡 Avoid @virginmedia @VirginMediaCorp

I made a name badge for #ISTELive using a @pimoroni Badger2040 incorporating a CO2/temp/humidity sensor. It was a fun little project and nice to learn some C++. Looking forward to seeing how the CO2 levels vary today. Code here: github.com/tteggel/thats-the…

So good hear hear this from the top. 👏 I will be giving @Suhail and @MightyApp my money as soon as they are ready to take it. (The quoted tweet could just as well have been written by @tweetamos about the @BookCreatorApp team.)
I think it’s very straightforward: we will never have a business model that makes money because of that data. We’ll work so hard at security and privacy that users will believe we do a better job than they ever could. That culture already exists internally.

Google saying the quiet part out loud: engineers should do what they are told and are not allowed to have ethics of their own. That’s only for “ethicists”.

How do you make a duck into a legendary singer/songwriter? Stick him in the microwave until his bill withers.

Learning to read codebases of different styles, platforms and languages is a developer superpower.
Source code is really the best kind of docs for libraries. Code is never outdated or incomplete, because it's the source of truth. The problem is that a lot of codebases are not made to be read by others, and developers aren't taught the habit of reading source code.

@FirstBSA @NorthSomersetC @drliamfox the new X7 timetable is a travesty. 1. Cutting the late busses unfairly disadvantages those who work in hospitality and care. And me when I need to get home after the pub.
2
2. Adding loads of stops makes the journey to and from Clevedon significantly longer and more inconvenient. I thought we were supposed to be _encouraging_ people to use public transport?
