This adventure has been a blast. It's pure fun to build out the underlying infrastructure for such an ambitious mission, with such incredible folks, and a very real world impact.
And now, we scale!
Today we’re announcing a $600M Series C, co-led by @CapitalG and @emergencecap, to bring fully autonomous machines to more job sites across the U.S.
We want autonomous equipment to become beautifully unremarkable, as ordinary on a job site as GPS or grade control.

In his recent talk at @anyscalecompute's Ray Summit, Bedrock’s Vincent Gonguet covered how the company was able to get to commercial deployments of fully autonomous excavators in only two years, and ways they use Ray to power the stack: heterogeneous CPU and GPU pipelines, mining ambiguous multimodal field data, and a closed-loop simulator that models everything down to the dirt.

Today we announced the first fully autonomous excavators working on their own on commercial sites.
With @Sundt, @ChampSitePrep and Zachry, Bedrock machines are moving earth on three projects in TX and NV.
We started with excavators. The mission goes far beyond one machine.
Just released go-toml 2.4.0 github.com/pelletier/go-toml…
This one is pretty neat.
The library is now compliant with TOML 1.1.0.
And it has been fully rewritten by Fable 5.
And it's much faster.
More details in thread!
Proceeded to review the change in details. This library is transitively used by many, so I wanted to be careful. The large body of tests passing made me confident it was fine, but still. More importantly, it almost read like a book to me.

No learning mechanism on Claude Code Review?
Would be great if it suggested CLAUDE.md changes, as PRs, so everything else benefits.
Is it me or Claude Code Desktop's diff pane never worked on remote sessions? I swear it used to but now second guessing myself. @amorriscode maybe can fact check me
New prompt injection dropped: put the word `workflow` literally anywhere in your company systems and it automatically instructs all your claude code instances to launch dynamic workflows.
So when is Claude going to let me switch between my corporate and personal accounts? Or do I need to sign up for Codex for one of them. @bcherny

Before an autonomous machine can act, it has to understand.
A construction site is one of the most unpredictable environments imaginable. The terrain changes with every pass. Material piles shift. Other machines move nearby. No two digs are the same. For a human operator, reading that environment is second nature, built from years of experience and constant sensory feedback. Teaching a machine to do the same is one of the hardest problems in autonomy.
Scene understanding is how we're working to solve it. Our system fuses LiDAR point clouds, camera feeds, and real-time terrain data into a continuous, three-dimensional picture of everything happening around the machine. It's a living model of the environment, updated moment to moment so the machine can make decisions grounded in what's actually in front of it.

Reindustrialization is happening, just not where you think.
Meet Proto-Town.
Just released go-toml v2.3.0. github.com/pelletier/go-toml…
It no longer uses the unsafe package. Nearly 300k repositories depend on it transitively (k8s, Docker, Hugo,...). Removing that hidden risk feels right. This is also the first release built largely with AI coding agents.
I've tried a few agents in this context (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex). Claude Code seems to match my flow and work best for me out of the box.
