Ever wondered where Bangalore’s wastewater actually goes?
Watch Down The Drain, a documentary-fiction film about Bangalore’s sewage, told from the perspective of a woman who accidentally flushes a watch down the toilet, written and directed by Nitya Misra @thorapl, here: youtu.be/F_kefmpHds0
This film was commissioned by Science Gallery Bengaluru for the Sci560 Film Festival in February 2025 and funded by Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies.

I'm not much into newsletters (so much to read, so little time syndrome) but I religiously read those written by film maker & writer, Nitya Misra - each one is profound, informative, & beautifully written. Do subscribe and check out her latest here:

Bangalore! I’m looking to connect with DINK couples in their 30s .This might be a strange ask, but I want to come over to your place and photograph your home (in a non-creepy way, I promise👽) If you are willing to open up your home to me, please DM!
And help spread the word?

Took a 'food disgust test' from one of my fav newsletters (@thorapl's). Surprised to recognised I'm pretty put off by insects and not surprised to see that I ♥️ fish.
Plugging in nitya's newsletter ;) open.substack.com/pub/nityam…

What do you do with all the old WhatsApp videos on your phone that just take up space? This very short film, made from the random WhatsApp videos on my phone, attempts to answer that.

"It's in this AAW that I’ve had great moments of clarity. It’s sometimes an idea about a project that I’m working on... Other times it’s an instruction - “call this person’s mother”; “cook a noodle soup today”;... sometimes it’s revelatory - “Oh! I really dislike dill!”"
I write about revelations, Morning Pages, and the idea of maintenance in the latest edition of my newsletter! nityamisra.substack.com/p/th…
