This #MemberMonday ahead of the @NACoTweets Annual Conference, we're recognizing Suffolk County @ExecEdRomaine and Suffolk County Comptroller John Kennedy Jr. who were recently recognized as a Best in Category winner of a 2025 NACo Achievement Award!
For their winning entry, they worked together with NYSAC partner @threeplus_one to create the Bank Account Collateralization Program to ensure that bank-held County funds are properly and sufficiently collateralized in accordance with NYS General Municipal Law § 10.
The Bank Account Collateralization Program fosters enhanced transparency and safeguards the financial well-being of Suffolk County taxpayers, especially in today’s evolving regulatory and banking landscape.
The NACo Achievement Awards have recognize outstanding county government programs and services. Noteworthy programs receive awards in 18 categories that cover a vast range of county responsibilities.
