Yep. Figma is basically done for me, too. No more hand placed pixels. Only design systems.
I don't use Figma anymore.
Grok bot is our chief design engineer.
I didn't hire anyone. I set up a grok bot on @bot and gave it a title: chief design engineer.
It doesn't ship for me. I still approve every design, but it does basically everything else.
Last week, it dug through our data, found two design flaws, and shipped an update.
Since shipping:
Our platform engagement grew by +22%
Traffic quickly grew by 10%.
Here's what it actually does every week:
- turns drop-offs in our analytics into one design for me to approve on @paper
- studies the best apps to see what's working
- writes up every idea in @linear with the problem and the fix
- tells me when a design is good enough so i don't overpolish it
- waits for my pick before anything ships
It's not magic. some designs are meh and I tell it so.
I just pick one.

Hardware is hard.
Will have to do a v3 of the case, as the stability of the snap fits I went for was lacking. Was too enthusiastic and wasted 8 hours on a set of to. This case is made to cover up to two switches (Germany).
At least I learned what I want from the case. And found that the Sun Matte PETG in that "Ivory" kind of shade is a good fit as a wall device. And if you do ironing with your 3d printer the quality is remarkably good.
I'll also try out spray painting cases, to see how good we can get with the color and feel.
But ... 8 hours and two cases for the bin 🥲
Seriously I asked grok to research what it would even take in the eu to make a panel / server thing a product in the EU.
And really all I can think right now is: who would ever want to still do this? Like only huge corps can afford to deal with this.
Look at just the first batch of regulations that deal with tech involved.

This is now running really smooth on that tiny ESP32-P4.
If you know Smart Home screens out there, this is not what you get normally with what is commercially available.
I build this for me first. Because all the screens out there suck and cost an arm and a leg.
And they aren’t open. And don’t support your agent talking to you.
It so feels like Star Trek to iterate through 3d Design for my ESP32 Display case and then send it to my Replicator, I mean 3D printer and just get this thing to exist in the physical world. Isn't that amazing?
And btw. maybe it's me but this "I just one prompted" thing is actually is not how this work for me.
Development for this is incredibly fast with AI, but it still needs compiling, flashing, testing ... thinking about stuff, optimization for slow ESP32 hardware took a long time ...
Still this is not a one-prompt-over-night-thing ... not at all.
Ok, so I created a Custom Setup for ESP32 now, to run my Home Dashboard with AI connection to that platform. First Device it's running on is a Waveshare 7 inch ESP32 and I also created a 3D printed flush mount wall case, so you can mount it over outlets.

So from my cheap picture frame Smart Home Dashboard server I now moved it to be more universal ... here's the first screenshots from in running on a ESP32 based 7 inch multi touch kit.
I'll open source it as a server that is flexible on the client side and support Android and Esp32 at the beginning.

Here’s one of the strangest things that ever happened to me: I just got a letter from my energy provider two weeks ago: I’d have until 1. November to find another energy provider, as they would have to shut down because of insolvency.
Reasons they gave were the energy market fluctuations and high peaks that they were not able to offset anymore.
