Sean Payton is very surprised Shedeur Sanders hasn’t been drafted yet
“There will be this chip on his shoulder, and beware — because this guy’s gonna play in this league.”

On March 11 Colorado will open spring practice. Deion Sanders is the head coach. My mentions for the last two years on many stories written about a Colorado prospect said this wouldn't be the case.

Here are some objective truths about this season for Colorado football fans to consider going into 2025:
- Since 2000, CU has only ranked in the upper half of FBS in scoring offense and defense 4 times. They did it in 2024. 📈
- CU was nearly dead last in SRS (composite team ranking) in 2022, which is ABSURD for a P5 team. They were in the upper quartile in 2024. 📈📈
- CU ended up with one of their weaker schedules in the last couple decades, primarily because several teams predicted to dominate the Big XII (Utah, Arizona, OSU) ended up being awful. CU still significantly outpaced preseason expectations, but part of the jump was SOS. 💯
- CU ended up dead last in FBS rushing back to back years, by an enormous margin. Shedeur also ended up the most sacked FBS QB back to back years. This is why CU badly struggled against smash mouth type football teams. We have good building blocks in Seaton and Cash, but the OL as a unit HAS to be better moving forward or else the offense will stagnate. Georgia Tech will be quite a test to start the 2025 season. 👀
- CU has a top 25 recruiting/transfer class for 2025 with only 14 commits/signees so far. After #therise in 2016, CU's 2017 recruiting class ended up at 32, even with an enormous 31 commits. That is an EXTREMELY good sign. 📈📈
- The amount of media hype surrounding this still-rebuilding program is staggering. In college football, there's no worse fate than abject irrelevance and under Prime, CU is anything but irrelevant. #therise 2016 team was arguably better overall and never got this type of attention. As the program continues to build upward, this "hyper relevance" is a GREAT thing. 📈📈📈
We will give you guys our season grades on the next pod episode, but it's abundantly clear that @DeionSanders has @CUBuffsFootball on an excellent, upward trajectory. Despite losing two of the best individual talents CU will ever have, there's potential for the 2025 team and season to be even better than 2024. KEEP CLIMBING!!!! 📈📈📈📈
