starting to think that spending approximately 1,000 hours of the past year reading posts on this site was not actually a good use of time

lmao who among us hasn't blown $60B on some shit that didn't work out
We identified a security incident affecting a modified Claude Code VS Code extension accessed through our Cursor IDE extension marketplace, impacting at most 5,000 users. This malicious version of the extension was not developed by Anthropic. It does not impact other extensions downloaded from the cursor.com/marketplace, Grok Bot, Grok or our other SpaceXSI products. In response, we took down our extension marketplace this afternoon, worked with relevant providers to neutralize the malware, and have reinstated the marketplace after confirming there is no further risk. If affected, please review instructions in this blog post to understand how to find the malicious package and establish a path to mitigate any potential impact. We are asking all customers update to Claude Code for VS Code version 2.1.314: cursor.com/blog/claude-code-…

can we stop pretending that we can catch all of these with thorough enough code review
That is one hell of a typo.

the internet is dead. the internet remains dead and we have killed it. how shall we comfort ourselves? who will wipe this blood off us, what festivals of atonement shall we have to invent?
grok bot got me 1.5M impressions in 7 days. i didn't hire anyone. i set up a grok bot on @bot and gave it a title: chief marketing officer. (CMO for short) it doesn't post for me. i still press every button, but it does basically everything else. that week it helped me land two viral posts back to back. then it noticed my posts about my grok bots were pulling in more verified followers than anything else. so we leaned in. wednesday i had ~1,954 verified followers. saturday i passed 2,000 and unlocked subscriptions. here's what it actually does every week: - drafts my posts in my voice (rough, lowercase, like this) - studies other creators in my space to see what's working - keeps a content calendar of notable dates each month - logs every post in notion and scores it against my median - tells me when a post is still hot so i don't step on it - sends me a weekly report on what worked and what flopped it's not magic. some drafts are meh and i tell it so. i just press the button.

the car with the rocket engines is cool, yes, and also pointless the same way every supercar is pointless. it feels like a missed opportunity they should have made a mass market sports car instead, in the same market as the Mazda Miata or Nissan Z, that normal people can buy

the first Tesla Roadster had to be expensive because the company was too small to make something affordable, but that isn't the case today; they could churn out a two-seat drop top electric roadster for the price of a Model 3 if they wanted

I've got the same complaint about the new Bugatti or whatever too. it's gonna sell in incredibly small numbers and the same engineering effort could have made a nice new Karmann Ghia or something

actual local model perverts are spending the cost of a new Toyota Corolla on ten year old data center GPUs that would be recycled as e-waste if there wasn't a shortage right now but in Anthropic's fantasy world, open models can run on your toaster, so they must be banned now!
SITUATION DETECTED: Anthropic believes AI models may be only months away from being capable of self-replicating without access to a datacenter by using commercial devices like Android smart TVs.

it's gonna be really quite funny when the only jobs the computer is able to reliably automate are uber driver and software engineer

It's been just over a year since we started Meta Superintelligence Labs. Muse Spark was our first family of models, and now Muse Wonder is a much larger and more advanced class of models that brings us to the frontier. We're releasing two models today. Muse Wonder for fast frontier performance and Muse Wonder Full for the full version of the model.

had my jailbroken local model take a look at my home network's security and it's like "damn bitch you live like this?" asked it if it wanted the root password to clean it up and it pointed out that it could just exploit my docker config (and in fact already had)

the market is so efficient that it already priced in the successful starship launch, it didn't move the stock one fucking dollar

asked the efficient market (moloch) why and he was like "thirty degrees? yeah call me back when you're launching into an inclination that actually serves starlink customers"
