Now the dust has settled In reflection what this team has achieved is remarkable and people will say that’s the obvious but when you dig deep ⤵️ 2023 - Lose a grand final to Collingwood by 4 points. This would have been easy to break them as a team and rolling over instead they went the other way. 2024 - Brisbane finish 5th on the ladder, down by 44 points in a semi final against GWS, come back to win that, then the following week 25 points down in the preliminary final against Geelong and also found a way to win. The grand final was a dream day with a massive win over Sydney, Brisbane were underdogs going in and proved the world wrong. 2025 - a very good season, the most consistent they looked out of all 4 Grand final seasons. Although a heavy loss in the first final against Geelong, went on to win the next two finals and met Geelong again in the grand final and after half time turned it into another easy Grand final win. 2026 - a season where they never really felt like they were in control, but the team has the most ‘never quit’ mindset they copped a big loss to Sydney in the first final, and also found themselves down late against hawthorn, no matter how it happened the determination they found to win was massive, and the grand final felt 50-50 all day until the last 10 minutes where they were all but out of it, but to once again pick themselves up and do what only that team could do and kick 4 goals to win the game, in the biggest game possible. Throughout all of these Grand finals and recently the 3 premierships, the media and the football public have written the Lions off, the never quit attitude has answered every time. I will not write them off for 4 in a row, although it will be a massive mountain to climb, they will be around the mark. I’ll leave the season previews for early 2027, for now celebrate what a run it’s been.
