Forget all the huge supermarkets and their mawkish Christmas adverts, this was the best Christmas advert - Enniskillen pub Charlie's put out this advert back in 2023. It’s brilliant.

The design was pure science fiction for its time. At high speed, the XB-70's outer wing panels folded downward, helping capture the compression waves beneath the aircraft and generate additional lift. This was the famous "compression lift" concept. Only two Valkyries were ever built, both as experimental aircraft after the operational B-70 bomber program was cancelled in 1961. 2/3

509 years ago today (according to the traditional story), Luther challenged a Pope. The resultant cause and effect didn’t start a new church, it reformed the one true catholic church. As Calvin says in his letter to Cardinal Sadoleto: "[N]ot only that our agreement with antiquity is far closer than yours, but that all we have attempted has been to renew that ancient form of the Church… Indeed, in attacking, breaking down, and destroying your kingdom, we are armed not only with the energy of the Divine Word, but with the aid of the holy Fathers also." Orthodox, but not Eastern, catholic, but not Roman.
