I see all those garbage 'Design Trends for 2023' clickbait articles are starting to come out again, so it's time to trot out this 4 year old strip to show that nothing ever changes (except maybe the bit about Dropbox).

Instead of telling kids not to play video games, adults should play too.
Compared to kids who don’t play, those who play 3 hrs/day have better working memory & impulse control. Experiments show cognitive benefits for adults too.
Video games are a form of exercise for the brain.

In all seriousness, I've designed interfaces in Director, Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Sketch, Figma and many others. Figma is just another tool. There will be another. And then another. And another after that.
General message: Chill out and stop fetishising tools.

Sorry, but making something look nice is still design, no matter how many tweets you write or conference talks you give to the contrary.
That's the joy of design, it's so many different things.

It’s hard to imagine a lower ROI task than naming your layers in Figma/Sketch/Photoshop.
I have never been in a situation where doing so has paid off, or at least in proportion to the ridiculous time investment required.

Two design problems here:
1. The first and last dot use the same green. Doesn’t make sense.
2. Using color only to differentiate info is never a good idea and goes against accessibility standards.
Suggestion: use different icons or two dots? There’s a better solution out there.

Oh dear.
1. The desperation to get everyone back into their offices is palpable.
2. The copywriting here is dreadful. (“Proper bants.”)
3. The replies should be sent to Number 10 as a form of focus group. The mesage, loud and clear: You are doing everything wrong.
