Regardless of the outcome at the appeals court, this needs to go to the SCC. It was their idiotic half assed decision to say it’s a constitutional requirement to consult with FN’s but then didn’t bother to define what ‘consult’ means or when that consultation must take place. You can’t reasonably demand Gov has a legal requirement to do something but not clearly tell them what or when!

Ukraine & Zelensky got caught red handed. In fact I’ve been very reliable told it was Ukraines capture of illegally obtained Starlink terminals being used by Russia that provided them with the idea & ability to hack Starlink terminals to exceed speed restrictions, bypass data usage limits (the faster a terminal goes the more data it uses) & mask the location of the terminals, all of which would have alerted Starlink engineers to the misuse but & here’s the kicker, when Ukraine demanded that Starlink engineers come up with a way to defeat the Russian hack of their illegally obtained Starlink terminals (something Starlink’s engineers did this summer), those very same engineers began using what they learned to double check their entire network of users & by mid-September, they were warning Musk that the Ukrainians were doing the same thing (but better & with their legally obtained Starlink terminals) that the Russians had been doing. I’m told Musk went to Trump who got Kushner & Witkoff involved. They let Zelensky know, that what his military was doing was wrong & wouldn’t be tolerated. In fact, the day before Musk ordered his engineers to overcome the Ukrainian hack & restore speed limits, proper data usage & GPS location reporting, Witkoff made a final plea with the Ukrainian negotiators who were meeting with their US counterparts in Florida. When the AFU launched a mass drone attack against Russian positions the next day, Starlink engineers were ordered by Musk to restore the original operating parameters. Zelensky decided to lie (by omission) & use the failed attack against Russian positions, alongside his inability to defend his country against Russian retaliation attacks on Trump & Musk. Zelensky purposefully conflated the use of Starlink & his access to defensive intelligence his military receives via the US gov operated Starshield system. 3 days later as the facts were still putting their pants on, he spoke to EU leaders & demanded €78 billion euros to fight on, coincidence, I think not. The EU was not receiving his request for more funding well but in the wake of his public campaign to make it appear that the US wasn’t just abandoning him & his people, they were now actively preventing him from defending his country, his request could hardly be denied by the anti-Trump EU. As per usual, Ukraine is easily winning the propaganda war while Zelensky’s strategic & operational choices continue to ensure that Ukraine can never win the ground war & his people will continue to suffer.

The only bigger hypocrites than journalists & political pundits are politicians themselves. They are head & shoulders collectively the biggest losers that walk amongst us.
Gary Mason spent the past year warning that BC Conservatives were a band of MAGA-curious wingnuts, culture-war amateurs, and shambolic leadership disasters who couldn’t be trusted with the province. Now that they’ve actually won, he’s on air calmly explaining that yes, the debt is a mess, the civil service ballooned, healthcare is broken, and the new government will have to make “really tough decisions” like hiring freezes if they want to turn the ship around. No fetal position. No outrage spiral. Just the dry accounting of a columnist who suddenly has to treat the people he spent months dismissing and smearing as serious adults with a mandate Somewhere in Palm Springs a patio is empty, the margaritas are going unpoured, and the US is being shit-talked by proxy. Must be rough @garymasonglobe

No more excuses now. BC Alberta and Saskatchewan need to tell Ottawa to collectively go F itself. Ignore all anti O&G laws and tanker bans. Green light every pipeline everywhere and let the assholes in Ottawa try and litigate their way into a fight with the West. Firewall the F out of them like you promised. Anything less just proves you’ve been full of shit this entire time.
Congratulations to Lorne Doerksen @LDoerkson on becoming the next Premier of British Columbia. Alberta and British Columbia share strong economic ties and common interests, from trade and energy to transportation and economic growth. I look forward to working with Premier designate Doerksen on shared priorities and advancing the interests of people in both provinces, including unleashing Canada’s potential as an energy superpower. I also want to acknowledge David Eby @Dave_Eby for his service as Premier. While we did not always see eye to eye, I appreciated the opportunity to work together on issues important to both provinces.

I guess the question we need to ask now is; is @LDoerkson Christy Clark, Kim Campbell, Brian Mulroney, Stephen Harper, Scott Moe, Doug Ford, Danielle Smith or Ralph Klein conservative? It’s great to see any Conservative leader running BC, but the type of conservative matters too!
Tonight, British Columbians chose a new direction. We’re doing this for our sons and daughters. For the future they deserve and the province we owe them. Thank you, British Columbia, I won’t let you down.

I have to admit, I didn’t believe this could really happen. In my mind, 9 years of destructive policies just wasn’t enough to derail a lefty gov. I mean seriously 11 years of destructive federal Liberal economic policies has left Carney more popular than ever. Ford called an early election with a majority & got another majority & when has blaming Trump ever failed to work? I was convinced that in the end, despite the overall dissatisfaction with Eby’s gov, between the Conservatives leadership circle jerk this summer & the anti Trump sentiment, Eby could marshal his base in the GVA & Vancouver Island to still obtain a slim majority or a large minority with enough Green Party support to keep the socialist train chugging along. I’m thrilled that political acumen failed me badly & hope it does again in Toronto tomorrow where I believe Chow will win reelection.
"I'll be offering my resignation as premier. Obviously." @Dave_Eby confirms he is stepping down as Premier and BC NDP leader following his election loss to @LDoerkson's BC Conservatives.

I’m not sure what the point of this was, but the grenade handling & laissez-faire attitude towards safety was amazing to see.

When it comes to Israel & most other things, you can always count on the @CBCNews to put the approved narrative first & the facts near the bottom & certainly not in the headline! 8 IDF soldiers simply manning a checkpoint were ambushed. 2 were murdered & 3 others wounded by 2 terrorist gunmen before being the terrorists we’re eliminated. The ongoing operation in Hebron is a RESPONSE to that attack. The pre-Oct 7th era of a proportional response is over. This is the era of you kill Israelis (soldiers or civilians) & the consequences are severe, choose wisely!

I’ve worn the same poppy for several years with a black pin in the centre but every year spend $20-30 dollars donating to the poppy fund without taking a new poppy. This year will be super easy as most poppy selling volunteers will have a tap function so you don’t have to worry about carrying cash or change.
Replying to @tleehumphrey
Brushing off our ‘poppy center lapel pins”…so we can buy poppies from veterans to affix to our lapels to show our real respect for those who gave life and limb to keep Cda free. 🙏🏻 #gratitude #respect

It appears that the majority of BC voters have had enough of the incompetent socialists that have run their beautiful province into the ground. Let’s hope Toronto’s voters show the same good sense on Monday!

Might well be time to preempt the across the region attacks being planned by Iran just prior to the midterm election.
U.S. intelligence assessments suggests Iranian preparations to attack Americans in the Middle East have reached “advanced stages,” U.S. officials told The Wall Street Journal, citing a Friday memo from Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton to Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The memo says Iran “has substantially increased efforts to target U.S. personnel,” with “lethal plotting” at advanced stages “in both the Middle East and certain other countries.” The Journal says U.S. personnel have left embassies and bases, including an ordered departure at the embassy in Saudi Arabia “and other countries,” and that a U.S. official said suspected Iranian plots informed the decision. Earlier reporting has been mixed. NBC News reported October 21st that the U.S. had quietly reduced troops at bases including in Jordan, Qatar and Kuwait and cut staffing at multiple diplomatic posts. That same day, journalist Timour Azhari posted, citing U.S. officials, that State was preparing ordered departures at embassies across the Gulf. State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott replied, “This is inaccurate,” saying the ordered departure covered Saudi Arabia only, and cited Houthi attacks. Officials told the Journal President Donald J. Trump is leaning toward resuming major combat operations, though no decision has been made. Source: wsj.com/world/middle-east/u-…

Medics are a special breed of soldier, those who can cut in an infantry rifle company are a very special breed. Cpl. Keane sounds like a hell of a good soldier & medic! Godspeed & may he recover fully.

Marty has a lot of smart takes on a variety of topics. I don’t think this is one of them. I know nothing about the how civil servant contracts work, how they qualify for pension or what their politics are after they leave gov but as a veteran, I know my oath came with the forfeiture of my Charter Right of Freedom of Expression while I served, I know that I paid all the same withholding taxes as my civilian friends & paid a % of my military pension, which at the age of 65, gets clawed back by an amount nearly equal to the CPP I also paid into. My medical pensions were earned the hard way…broken this & broken that. I’m not sure why Marty would find it unusual that when many of us can safely criticize the gov, we chose to do so? In fact, I’ve often said veterans are the only voice still serving soldiers have & its our duty (& privilege) to criticize the gov, especially as it relates to their treatment of our military & our veterans. We were indeed conditioned (read legally required) to follow legal orders that emanated from the gov but don’t confuse that with agreement with every order. At some point in every soldiers career you get to that line in the sand moment, it’s different for everyone & many factors come into play. I would hope you’d rethink your extra criticism of soldiers & federal police officers. They take on duties & roles that most CDN’s won’t, they sacrifice much & when free of their inability to criticize the gov should be thanked for their willingness to speak up, not criticized.
It’s hard to take any retired career civil servant seriously when they start criticizing the government. They're not outsiders looking in. They're part of the system. They spent decades collecting a paycheque, benefits, and a pension funded by people who actually produce something. Whether they like it or not, they’re part of the establishment that grew the bureaucracy, expanded the rules, trampled our rights, and made everyday life harder for everyone else. Some of the most intolerable are the retired cops and former military. I see the same pattern over and over on social media and in person with this group. They lived through years of conditioning to follow orders, defer to authority, and treat official procedure as sacred. Then they retire or leave, and suddenly they want to lecture the rest of us about holding government accountable.... except it's usually only on the issues that fit their residual loyalty. Sorry, but you don’t get to pick and choose who I can criticize. You can’t spend a career enforcing the state’s rules, then decide the state is untrustworthy only when it does something you personally dislike. The suspicion has to be consistent, or it’s just selective. I don't trust my government.....period. I also don't have a lot of faith in civil servants. If you're a ex cop or a veteran...thanks for your service... I mean that. But I don’t need you to explain how to keep the government in check. The people like me, who never cashed a government cheque, already figured that out.

It doesn’t get any more bland or milktoast than this drivel. Both of these members of the CAF were in uniform when they were specifically targeted & murdered by terrorists who were radicalized & motivated by ISIS’s Islamist ideology. I guess being sensitive to the @liberal_party gov’s ever growing base is more important than properly honouring soldiers who sacrificed their lives on CDN soil. #Pitiful
Twelve years ago today, Corporal Nathan Cirillo was killed while standing sentry at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Several others were injured. Two days earlier, in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec, Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent was killed in a separate attack. The attacks of October 2014 left a lasting mark on our country, but they did not change who we are. pm.gc.ca/en/news/statements/…

Israel is still at war with Hamas, PIJ, Fatah, Hezbollah, the Houthi & Iran. They very much need a wartime leader. PM @netanyahu has proven time & time again he is the right man for the times the country finds itself in.
For my non-Israeli friends: If you were Israeli, would you vote for Benjamin Netanyahu as your leader?
