Amazing that the networks don't use a version of this map. So much better...

The fact that this election is this close has me at a loss for words. I'm not as gobsmacked as 2016; more a quiet dejection realizing that four years of this behaviour is being rewarded with millions of votes. Regardless of the outcome, it's jarring.

This afternoon I had the honour of joining residents of Barrhaven in officially naming the Treehouse Mike Skatepark. I hope that this park is used to inspire the same sense of adventure that defined Treehouse Mikes life. Have fun, enjoy the park and stay safe! Thanks Jan Harder

Shopify is about to put 170,000 square feet of commercial real estate space on the market for sublease in downtown Ottawa (the Elgin Street space), I'm told. No surprise since it's moving to a permanent work-from-home model, but this will have a big impact on the city #ottnews

I am convinced that a lot of “technical debt” is really “problem definition debt.” It exists because nobody took the time to define how the tool or the data would need to be used over time, even though many of those uses are easy to anticipate.

Exciting day yesterday. Shared the Redrix app that @mesh and I built for fun using Flutter, and we made the front page of Reddit! Blown away by the amazingly positive response so far. #flutterdev #destiny redrix.io/

The most important skill to have as a programmer is the ability to teach yourself new things effectively and efficiently. You're going to be constantly growing and picking up new technologies. The ability to do that is more important than any individual tool or technology.

Timeless software engineering skills: 1. Not feeling scared to change code you didn't write 2. Empathy for your users and for your collaborators 3. Ability to communicate ideas clearly I'd hire someone with these skills any day.

Hey, hi, I wanted to write about this earlier already but life happened, so let me write about it now: I believe the most important skill as a designer are communication and debating skills. Yes, debating. Proper debate. Because game design NEVER exists in isolation.

Real #Agile results come from people being engaged. If the people who do the work are not engaged, no good comes from that.
