Hey @VerveRecords - what are the odds of seeing Joe Henderson’s 1990s releases get the Verve By Request treatment? Would love to have his “Lush Life” or “So Near, So Far” on vinyl.

A deeply important thread, both for what it points out (the appeal of evangelical faith communities to the lonely) and what it suggests – that it is possible to combine the radical welcome with radical acceptance. Of the queer, the immigrant, the powerful woman. Thanks @cmclymer
I’ve had a nagging feeling over the past several years that there’s an important aspect to evangelical church culture in the United States that’s been consistently overlooked, or simply unknown to most of the public. (long thread)

Took my daughter to @RareUVA this weekend to share one of my happy places, and stumbled across their exhibit of unusual Dracula memorabilia via @DraculaDaily. Most unusual thing in the display (behind her) was original art for a set of “Cobwebs” comic strips! (🧵)

We were just there to see the Declaration of Independence collection, but running into this little exhibit of vampire lore was a great bonus.

Other items in the case included an early edition of Brad Stoker’s Dracula, Rudyard Kipling’s _The Vampire_ (who knew?), a pop-up book, and more.

“Cobwebs” ran for about a year in a handful of newspapers, including my hometown Daily Press. Art was by @GaryBrookins1, who went on to more widespread notice thanks to his strip Pluggers.

I did not have "black bear across the street from me" on my bingo card today.
Bear spotted by @NBC10Boston… The black bear just made its way to Pleasant Street in Lexington around Wilson Farm Here’s video of the the bear:

It's always remarkable to me how many times we have to learn the same lessons over and over again.

And now I can say I’ve sung three Shostakovich symphonies with the @BostonSymphony under the baton of @andris_nelsons and the preparation of @jamesburton_mus. An incredible privilege. (Sadly you can’t see me in the photo below—I’m two rows up and about six people to the left.)
And, at last, the @BostonSymphony rounds the last bend of its Shostakovich symphonies marathon this week with performances of No. 13. Our Tanglewood Festival Chorus were joined by the @necmusic Symphonic Choir directed by my brilliant colleague Erica Washburn.

Glad to announce our StateRAMP authorization, underscoring what @Veracode’s state and local customers already know: we provide cloud services for software security that meet their needs and protect their data.
We are thrilled to announce that #Veracode has officially secured #StateRAMPauthorization, further solidifying our commitment to protecting and enabling Application Security Testing at state and local entities. veracode.com/press-release/v…

I like shortening the time-to-remediate metric because it brings #appsec back to the fundamentals of risk reduction AND helps ship code faster. Excited for the launch of @Veracode Fix and looking forward to showing it off next week at #RSAC2023. veracode.com/press-release/v…

Hey @AppleClassical — what is the right way to submit metadata corrections? This Grammy award winning album correctly credits John Oliver as the choral conductor, but links to the wrong John Oliver. classical.music.apple.com/us…

I love the level of metadata that’s available through this new app, and I know how hard it can be to get it right — would love to have an easy way to submit feedback on stuff like this.

The John Oliver who founded and conducted the TFC was born in 1939 and died in 2018, and was not a guitarist. More biographic information about him is available here: bso.org/profiles/john-oliver

Things I like about @AppleClassical: The Browse view by instrument, composer, conductor, player, period, and choir! Finally. Things I don’t: 1. Where’s the iPad app? 2. How on earth did it decide which parts of my >72,000 track library are “classical?” (Weird choices below.)

Also, classification of artists is hit or miss. The Tanglewood Festival Chorus is listed under Choirs, but the @CathedralChoral is not (they are an Artist, as "Washington National Cathedral Cathedral Choral Society"). The Suspicious Cheese Lords are likewise "just" an Artist.

Should have added: 3. Where's the Mac app?

Just stepped off stage from tonight’s performance. A real honor to be singing this work with the composer.
The stage is set for this weekend’s concerts with conductor André Raphel, Uri Caine and the Uri Caine Trio, vocalist Barbara Walker, and the Catto Chorus.
