With the contracts still circulating around and part of it doing with no protection on education, let’s not spread misinformation that they had dropped out. The girls all graduated
You’re a kpop journalist at billboard and you don’t know that there’s supposed to be a standard contract that was an outcome of TVXQ suing SM over their slave contract? Where did you go to school Jeff, this is really concerning.

and every day i think about how brave the newjeans girls were to try and stand up against an entertainment monopoly even despite the outcome and how they were used along the way. they had to love each other so much to even attempt that. an industry that refuses basic labor protections, an industry that intimidates their idols out of unionizing, and girls 16-20 were willing to face it not just for themselves but for the children who have been abused for over a decade. it was deeply selfless and no fan war could turn me against those sweet girls.

I think the new NJZ revelation has ended my spending on Kpop, I just can’t in good consciousness support this shit anymore
Kpop columnist that doesn’t know one of the biggest cases of idol abuse that completely shifted the industry, and set the standard 7 year contract. @billboard @RollingStone @nytimes @Forbes @Variety you guys would be better hiring a new grad with an ounce of integrity over him.

Had newjeans wanted to leave hybe out of cheer boredom, i would've STILL taken their side. Idk why y'all are dancing around trying to argue how the multi million company is the misunderstood hero while the teens are the villains

not to be a mhj 🧢 glazer but it’s odd that she’s always used as a scapegoat in the newjeans vs hybe debacle when this contract exposé shows that these issues are ingrained in the system of the label and wider industry. the mess has always been way bigger than her.

from day one the girls have been trying to tell us that this is bigger than them, that they spoke out for the betterment of their juniors and seniors and yet all they’ve received is public shame and ridicule for three years
