When CBS bumps out to New Edition, you already know the Patriots aren't losing this game.

Ugh, the burden of my crushing intellect!
I have too many books, and I need to get rid of some of these. The problem is that basically any used bookstore is going to look at these and just stare blankly at me

“Maps” was written by Karen O, Nick Zinner, and Brian Chase for Yeah Yeah Yeahs' 2003 debut album, Fever to Tell. The intensely emotional song was inspired by Karen O's relationship with Angus Andrew, frontman of Liars, during a period when their lives were increasingly affected by touring and distance. Released in 2003, “Maps” became the band's commercial breakthrough, reaching No. 87 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 9 on the Alternative Airplay chart in the United States, while peaking at No. 26 on the UK Singles Chart. Its impact was amplified by Patrick Daughters' unforgettable music video, in which Karen O visibly breaks down in tears while performing. The tears were completely real: Andrew was supposed to appear at the shoot but arrived three hours late, leaving Karen convinced that he might not come at all. She later said that she became genuinely emotional because the song had been written for him.

On this day in 1985 No 16 UK Album Chart The Pogues “Rum Sodomy And The Lash” IMHO an album that everyone must hear at least once. Another difficult pick but I’ll choose “A Pair Of Brown Eyes” how about you? #1980s #ThePogues #StiffRecords @jillwebb2005 @nikidoog @Carolyn_on_x @FatOldAnarchist @brunstead @SkaManD14

Season 2 of The Wire ended 23 years ago today. Probably the most underrated, overhated season of television ever. Season 2 is a litmus test. People who don’t appreciate it can’t truly understand what the show is really about.

Sources tell ABC News the Pentagon may strip an honor given to WWII hero Doris Miller – the first African American in history chosen to have a US aircraft carrier named after him – in order to rename the ship after Pres. Trump. @MarthaRaddatz has more. abcnews.link/2ktfh5G
