Say Goodbye to Tweetbot.
We've been proud to serve you over the last 12+ years, but due to circumstances beyond our control, we have to shut down Tweetbot.
Thank you so much for your patience and outpouring of support over these tough times at Tapbots.

So there’s more clarity today about the demise of third party clients like #Tweetbot and how the #TwitterAPI rules were quietly updated to basically prevent anyone to build a Twitter client. There’s nothing “long-standing”about that by the way. engadget.com/twitter-new-dev…
For me not being able to use #Tweetbot is a dealbreaker. The reading experience is way worse on the official Twitter app for many reasons. It sucks because I used to get a lot of updates from things that matter to me from Twitter.
The Twitter I used to love is long gone and collapsed even more since that clown took over. I don’t feel like I want to be part of what is left of the bird, at least for the time being. Maybe things get better in the future, until then find me on Mastodon → @tomakun@hatchee.bz

La "Rolls Royce" des consoles était avant tout un système d'arcade low cost qui avait plusieurs années de retard sur les plus gros hardwares tel que Space Harrier de 1985 par exemple. Mais elle avait au moins un truc avant-gardiste malgré tout. THREAD ⬇️.

So the official Twitter app has ads in between every 3 to 5 tweets. From things that I couldn’t care less about. How is that effective?

Really hope this is a temporary outage. If Elon has killed the API, that’s my redline & I’m out. Pretty sure a large chunk of the most active users are in the same boat. This is a CX & quality of life impactful decision for the product, not philosophical. 9to5google.com/2023/01/12/tw… – at Providence, RI
“Zero respect for the users for those apps, zero respect for the developers behind them — many of whom had been building on the Twitter platform for 10-15 years.” daringfireball.net/linked/20…
