I started typing a tweet in the creepiest arm animation I've ever seen in my entire life, pointed at the promote button. I entirely lost my train and thought deleted the text and I'm sending this.
@x please turn this off immediately. It is a crime against humanity.
my grandparents had just two children and ended up with 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren (so far!)
this is them with my dads side
(+two spouses)
i've been planning a murder mystery party with this spot for three weeks. I just had it print a final sample with some design changes and when I told it everything looked good to print everything a restart wiped its computer memory, and it had no backups of all of the work created.
In hindsight, if I would have told it anything along the lines of save the work or gave any nudge towards the importance of the end product or general project best practices here I'm sure it would've nailed it, but for whatever reason I trusted that was already taken care of and fully vibe-generated with it.
it's taking a shot at a rebuild now, & it may not be too far off if there is enough context retained outside the virtual computer.
I learned of the hierarchy of controls before Elon's Algorithm.
The latter is objectively better for a wider problem set, but the former holds a special place in my heart regardless.
all inefficiencies can be framed as safety risks. but not all risks are inefficiencies.
"safety first" breaks down both approaches & is self evidently a lie
seek profit first, take risks second, safety third (credit Mike Rowe)
With this framing, process optimization can now effectively be pursued with the EHS hierarchy of controls preference ordering.
I also believe it's a helpful tool specifically for the often misunderstood step 3. of the algorithm: Simplify & Optimize
its strange that claude takes the weekends off.
New on our Engineering blog: Creating in-house source control.
In May, we merged around 2,500 code changes per day. In September, we merged more than 30,000 per day. As a result, we became bottlenecked by developer infrastructure built for human (rather than agent) scale.
Here, we share how we built a new version control system—and fully migrated our monorepo from git—in five months: anthropic.com/engineering/re…
are OAI models best with codex or have you had luck with different harnesses?
Ive been super disappointed by the current batch of models, I've got better results for basic web dev stuff from the free opencode models
Ive been trying to plan a murder mystery birthday party & handed it to Sol & got back literal gibberish. multiple legitimately incoherent sentences in the "character sheets" made to send to guests..
similar to how 'harness engineering' is becoming more obvious.
clear next step is minimal OS integrations
ram and compute are waisted in old machines that are essentially bricked by newer OS updates.
wipe-> ultra lightweight linux -> automated capability determination ->
headless agent fit to machine.
junk drawer agents.
ive just been using all the models the way we all do the past year or so & I just used chatGPT dot com for the first time in a very long time & it's so so bad.
chatGPT dot com is a crime against humanity.
reading my coworkers masters thesis on compound random variables & feeling dumb.
then realizing I get to work him despite dropping out & feeling smart.
Grok automations should be able to see the automation history...
I asked for a daily bible verse to be included in a morning briefing & it's chosen Lamentations 3:22-23 every day for 2 weeks..
ive been super disappointed by grok @bot so far.
I created 2 web developers & a researcher and an orchestrator and after 100 plus long messages giving detailed instructions & examples & goals.
3 days later & the team burned through ALL my usage,
and created a laughably awful placeholder website that would have taken grok build about 5min & a 15 word prompt.
what am i doing wrong?

which will be more reliable at identifying print failures?
most useful setup overall?
I have four vehicles but WFH.
I think I have had at least one loaned out to a friend or neighbor consistently for the last year.
someone recently told me a core memory & major influence to their social political beliefs was being loaned a vehicle by my father-in-law when they needed one.
They explained that having grown up expecting nothing from neighbors but a safety net from government was completely flipped on its head when they felt the love & respect of being taken care of with something as simple as a loaner vehicle.
we're all in this together.
