This Australian's reply to Trump's rant about “NATO not being there for America” is perfect. "Mate. You run a country with 600,000 homeless people sleeping on the street tonight. A country where 40% of adults can't cover a $400 emergency without borrowing money. A country where insulin costs more than a car payment and people are rationing it to survive. A country where medical debt is the number 1 cause of bankruptcy. A country where women are dying in hospital car parks because doctors are too scared of abortion laws to treat a miscarriage. You lock up more of your own citizens than any nation on earth. More than China. More than Russia. More than North Korea. The land of the free has 2 million people in cages, and a quarter of them haven't even been convicted of anything. They're just too poor to make bail. Your life expectancy is going backwards. You're the only developed nation where that's happening. Your infant mortality rate is worse than Cuba's. Your kids do active shooter drills between maths and English while you sell the gunmaker's stock to your mates. Your minimum wage hasn't moved in 15 years. You've got teachers working 2 jobs and veterans sleeping under bridges and you just spent a trillion dollars flattening a country that didn't attack you. And you’ve got a convicted felon, adjudicating raping, paedophile protecting, porn star shagging insurrectionist running the biggest dumpster fire war campaign since the Taliban in Afghanistan thanked you very much for losing again. And you're calling Greenland poorly run? Greenland has universal healthcare. Free education. One of the lowest incarceration rates in the world. Nobody goes bankrupt there because they got sick. Nobody dies in a waiting room because their insurance said no. 'NATO wasn't there when we needed them." When exactly was that, champ? September 11? Because NATO invoked Article 5 for the first and only time in history FOR YOU. Soldiers from dozens of countries deployed, fought, bled, and died in Afghanistan FOR YOU. Australia wasn't even in NATO and we still showed up. For 20 years. And you pulled out at 2am without telling anyone and left them to deal with the mess. So maybe before you start calling other countries poorly run, have a look at your own backyard, you spray-tanned aluminium siding salesman. The only thing poorly run in this picture is your f----- mouth." Credit to: Jim Keller

By day, I vibe-code. At night, I make chocolates. The mental juggling is kind of fun and keeps my old brain chugging along.

I'm vibe-coding a replacement for my wife's ugly web-based invoice app. In ten days, I went from requirements to prototype, complete with a dashboard, goals, checklists, and a decision log. Feels like the old days. I'm a newb with agents (not with development) 😆

Like I said, I’m new to coding with agents. So if you guys have any suggestions, please let me know. Currently using Claude desktop. Will switch to Claude agent inside XCode when cleaning up the UI, as that should speed things up.

“No, it’s not Discord. It’s Dyncord. Totally different.” 🤪🤪😂😂🤣😇 Sure. And this is an iPfone, that’s a NacBook, and the company is called mApple. 🍎 Dyncord pairs its near-Discord name with familiar blue-purple branding and screenshots still labelled “App for Discord.” The seller is Talha Faisal same 🤖 from 31.4187° N, 73.0791° E , not Discord Inc. apps.apple.com/app/dyncord-c… 💸 €9.99/month, €44.99/year or €69.99 lifetime. 🔐 “Data Not Collected”—while its policy describes sending AI prompts and selected conversation excerpts to external providers. 🔗 Its support site shares the exact same Google Form with Instagram and Snapchat app sites associated with the same seller. It's been years since I've walked along the Skywalk above Silom Road. Lots of changes for the better, but the years have not been so kind to some. Left: 2016. Right: 2026.

"the statute doesn’t say, “Unless you remembered to use ‘lawyer’ instead of ‘attorney.’”"
Failing the bar exam isn’t the embarrassing part of this story 😬 Explaining that you’re a “lawyer,” just not an “attorney,” after serving as “general counsel” is where things get interesting. Here’s what reportedly happened: > Katie Zacharia graduated from Pepperdine’s law school in 2011. She took the California bar exam, failed, and never retook it. > That first part is nothing to mock. The bar is hard. Plenty of excellent attorneys failed on their first attempt. > But graduating from law school and being authorized to practice law are separate accomplishments. > One gets you a diploma. The other gets you clients whose problems you are legally permitted to make your problems. > Zacharia went on to work in China, publicly describe herself as a lawyer, and hold the title of “general counsel” at Fix California. > When questions about her credentials surfaced, she offered an explanation: she says Pepperdine’s president told her she could call herself a “lawyer,” but not an “attorney” or “esquire.” > That is an incredible amount of responsibility to place on a synonym. > There IS a version of this distinction floating around the internet: > “Lawyer” means someone educated in law. > “Attorney” means someone licensed to practice it. > You can find people making that argument. You can find dictionary discussions about it. > The problem is that California has an actual statute. > Business and Professions Code § 6126 covers people who practice law without authorization AND people who hold themselves out as entitled to practice law. > That second part matters. > You don’t necessarily have to walk into a courtroom, file a lawsuit, or bill someone $800 an hour to create a problem. How you represent your qualifications to the public can itself matter. > And the statute doesn’t say, “Unless you remembered to use ‘lawyer’ instead of ‘attorney.’” > The question is what you are communicating about your authority to practice law. A different noun doesn’t automatically fix that. > Which brings us to “general counsel.” > That’s a particularly difficult title to square with the explanation. > When an organization introduces its general counsel, people generally understand that to mean the person responsible for its legal affairs. > Nobody thinks, “Ah yes, their designated law school graduate.” > A watchdog group has now filed a State Bar complaint. A complaint is an allegation, not a finding, and whether her specific conduct violated the law requires more than watching a clip. > But the broader lesson is pretty simple: > A J.D. is a real accomplishment. So is working internationally. Neither needs to be inflated into a license you don’t hold. All she had to say was “I graduated from law school and worked at a firm in China, BUT I'M NOT LICENSED TO PRACTICE." Why lie? Geez.
