Imagine going out to catch lunch, only for lunch to fight back! That's exactly what happened to a female cheetah near Aruba in Tsavo East National Park, Kenya, when a hunt took an unexpected turn. Instead of walking away with a full stomach, she ended up with a deep wound on her inner left shoulder, likely caused by the horn of her prey as she tried to bring it down. Luckily, our KWS Tsavo Veterinary Team came to her rescue! They carefully stitched up her shoulder, treated a scrape on her right knee and provided the care she needed to get back on her paws. Her chances of recovery are looking promising! And then came the most important part of recovery: a little room service, wilderness edition! 😁 Every wildlife rescue is another chance to give our wild a fighting chance. Victims of abuse usually end up not being likable after they escape the abuse, or are still in it because trauma makes you unlikable, it makes you mentally unstable. It is TRUAMA. Being a long term abuser makes it easier for the abuser to appear “normal”. They know the game, they know how to pretend and appear “calm” while their victims look like “crashouts” due to the harm inflicted onto them. Idk why this is rocket science to people.
