Even if we overlook the last minute corruption in the Brazilian elections:
There’s never been a candidate in Brazil who won the first round, and lost the runoff election.
The candidates that dropped out of the first round were also politically closer to Bolsonaro, and also endorsed him—meaning there’s a much higher probability of their voters joining Bolzonaro in the runoff.
A Lula victory in Brazil tonight, was a statistical impossibility.
Why is it that statistical impossibilities always favor the left?

Barack Obama was horrible in a million different ways, but he doesn’t get anywhere near the hate he deserves for destroying the used car market for an entire generation.
15-year-old cars with 150,000 miles that should be selling for $3,000 are going for $15,000. It’s abominable. Pure destruction and thievery.
If Republicans win Congress, we're fucked. If Democrats win, we'll be fucked even faster. Vote accordingly.

Yes - as @Grok says - I did that. In 2010 here:

And then it was in a 2020 paper by Ravnskov et al (including me) covered here:

It needs shut completely down.
We need an immigration moratorium for a minimum of 10 years.

My parents paid $16,000 for the house I grew up in. It’s now worth $783,000 on Zillow.
Sounds like they made a fortune, right?
In gold terms, that house cost 450 ounces in 1962. At today’s gold price, it’s worth 250 ounces.
The house actually lost value.
Politicians get away with robbing working class people blind because most people don’t realize their nominal gains aren’t real gains.
They think they’re inflation-adjusted rich, but they’re not.

If you’re selling gold because of fusion alchemy, you’re front-running a reactor that doesn’t exist, fed with mercury that costs 100,000x more than the gold it makes, to produce bars you couldn’t legally sell for 15 years.
Marathon Fusion’s idea is real physics, since fusion neutrons can turn mercury-198 into gold.
1. Even optimistic models give 2–5 tonnes per gigawatt plant per year, against roughly 3,500–4,000 tonnes of annual mine supply
2. Enriched mercury-198 sells for about $15,000 per milligram today, while gold trades near $135 per gram
3. The gold would need 14–18 years of storage before it can be sold, so a plant’s first sellable bar arrives well over a decade after it switches on
Last month, we demonstrated high-rate alchemy: turning mercury into real, stable gold, beating CERN’s record by a factor of 10.
Last week, we enriched isotopes in the world’s most powerful plasma centrifuge, beating the Soviet record that stood for 40 years.
Now, we’re building a fusion reactor in San Francisco to achieve record power density.

The irony that Trump is out there pimping a "Fraud Whistleblower Program" when HE, HIMSELF, has pardoned DOZENS of criminals convicted of defrauding the federal government of BILLIONS of dollars is not lost on me.
LASIK eye surgery costs roughly $2,100 per eye today. In 1998, it cost $2,200 per eye. Adjusted for inflation, you are paying about 60% less for a procedure that has simultaneously become faster, safer, and more precise. That is what markets do when left alone.
Now compare that to a hearing aid. The FDA classified hearing aids as prescription medical devices for decades, locking you into audiologist appointments before you could buy a $3,000 device that a manufacturer could produce for $300. Or, look at insulin. Heavily regulated, patent-extended, and politically manipulated, a vial of Humalog ran over $330 in 2024 versus roughly $21 in Canada for a biosimilar. Same molecule. Different regulatory environment.
LASIK sits in a peculiar gap. Insurers rarely cover it, which means third-party payment schemes never severed the price signal between provider and patient. You shop, clinics compete, manufacturers race to improve technology. The feedback loop that markets depend on functions exactly as it should.
Regulated medical markets break that loop deliberately. The FDA's approval process costs pharmaceutical companies over $2.6 billion per new drug on average, erecting barriers that protect incumbents and punish smaller competitors who cannot absorb a decade of compliance costs. Patients then pay the premium on the back end.
LASIK is the control in the experiment. The market won.

If the Top 1% of Americans disappeared tomorrow, the 99% would face a catastrophe.
If the Bottom 1% of Americans disappeared tomorrow, the 99% would see an immediate improvement in their day-to-day quality of life and our country would be in a fundamentally better position.

There's a lot of discourse about empty seats at MLB Playoff games. Here's a crazy take: what if this shit has just gotten too expensive?
A seat in the upper bowl is $200. Then there's taxes and fees. Then there's parking. Then the $12 hot dog. Then there's the $18 shit domestic beers. I love drinking beer at games, but do you ever stop and think about how much you just paid for a Coors Light? We are getting straight up skull fucked by concession prices.
Logistics can be one argument, sure. But I'm not going to sit here and breakdown getting to/from Tropicana because you've heard it a hundred times (unless you're Max from Pardon My Take who doesn't even know the Rays aren't in Tampa, moron.)
As a sports fan, obviously you want to see these stadiums packed and the atmospheres at their bets. But in the real world I think it's fair that some people don't want to spend half their paycheck going to a game.

A Georgia man gets tased by Coweta County deputies at a gas station over a seatbelt violation—on private property where the law doesn’t even apply. Charges dropped. He sues for excessive force.
While that lawsuit is pending, the same sheriff’s office runs his plate through Flock 5 times over 197 days, querying 6,000+ camera networks nationwide. Justifications entered: “info” and “37.”
He felt followed and watched near his home and business. Ended a 6-year contract servicing another PD’s vehicles because he no longer felt safe.
This is exactly what Flock enables: retaliation against people who challenge them.

Why does everything feel fake?
We have a Congress that won't pass something 83% people want.
We have courts that release criminals faster than police can arrest them.
We have schools that graduate kids who can’t read.
We have colleges that charge $200K for degrees that don’t get you jobs.
We have a non-profit system that profits from our tax dollars.
We have a health care industry that profits from you staying sick.
We have “representatives” who don’t represent us.
We have “news” networks that report opinions and call them facts.
We have an insurance industry that fights every single claim.
None of it works the way they tell you it works.
And deep down, everyone knows it.
It just all feels so so fake…
