On a recent trip to Palani temple, I traveled by train from Chennai to Dindigul and then by car to Palani. On my return journey, I spotted a mountain with a unique shape and steep peak. ⛰️
🤔 Intrigued, I took a photo & researched it online, discovering to my surprise that

In captivity, the Valmiki Ramayana describes Mata Sita as weakened by fasting, sighing repeatedly, clad in a single, mud-stained yellow garment, and stripped of her ornaments.
Her radiance remained, faint yet undiminished, like a flame behind a veil of smoke, and her purity shone like the slender crescent of the waxing moon.
Like a lotus pond deprived of its lotuses, she appeared bereft of all outward beauty.

In 1648, the Dutch East India Company occupied Tiruchendur’s sacred Murugan temple, fortified it with guns, and eventually carried away the processional vigrahas of Shanmukhar and Natarajar, mistaking them for gold.
A violent storm forced the Dutch to cast the vigrahas into the sea.
Guided by a divine dream, Vadamalaiyappa Pillai, the Nayak’s governor, discovered their location. The original vigraha of Shanmukhar and Natrajar was recovered and reinstated at Tiruchendur.

For the past few years, I have been consciously making this small change in the way I offer thamboolam during our traditional functions.
I have stopped buying manjal-kumkum and betel nuts in plastic packets. Instead, I offer betel leaves and unpackaged betel nuts, coconut, and manjal, chandan and kumkum directly from small containers, while giving thamboolam.
Even if these natural offerings are not consumed, they can return to the earth without leaving behind plastic waste.
Our traditions teach us to revere nature. Shouldn't that reverence reflect in our everyday choices too?
What other small changes can we make in our traditions and daily lives to reduce waste and be gentler to Mother Earth?
I would love to hear your thoughts. 🙏🌿

DAY 4 | ASHTAVAKRA GITA
न त्वं विप्रादिको वर्णो नाश्रमी नाक्षगोचरः ।
असङ्गोऽसि निराकारो विश्वसाक्षी सुखी भव ॥
Meaning: Ashtavakra points beyond social classifications and outward appearances: the Self is unattached, formless and the witness of all.
Life lesson: Your profession, status, possessions and reputation describe parts of your life, but the teaching invites you to look beyond them when asking who you truly are.
Who are you when nobody is judging you?
What if peace isn't something you have to chase?
DAY 3 | ASHTAVAKRA GITA
यदि देहं पृथक् कृत्य चिति विश्राम्य तिष्ठसि ।
अधुनैव सुखी शान्तो बन्धमुक्तो भविष्यसि ॥
Meaning: If you recognize yourself as distinct from the body and rest in consciousness, you can become peaceful and free from bondage even now.
Life lesson: You don't have to solve every problem before you pause and observe your experience with clarity. Sometimes the first step is to stop identifying completely with what you feel.
Can you pause for one minute without chasing your next thought?

🚨SHOCKING - FIR against Malabar:
A man walked into a Malabar Gold showroom in Bilaspur with a simple request: exchange his old 22-carat HUID-hallmarked bracelet.
The staff ran it through their XRF machine. Once. Twice. Three times.
Every reading came back the same: 20 carat.
They even told him the hallmark didn’t exist.
He called the local jeweller who had sold him the bracelet. The jeweller walked in, confirmed the HUID, and asked them to test it again.
Same machine. Same bracelet. Same room.
This time an employee adjusted something on the machine. Suddenly the reading flipped to 916 - pure 22 carat.
The jeweller recorded everything. The Sarafa Association arrived. Police registered an FIR against the showroom manager and the machine operator. The machine and DVR were seized.
This wasn’t a small local shop. This was Malabar Gold “the chain that advertises trust, purity, and BIS standards across India”.
One bracelet. Two readings. An 8% gap in gold value. And the only thing that changed was who was watching.
If a hallmarked piece can magically lose two carats the moment a customer wants to exchange it, and magically regain them the moment someone pushes back, what exactly is the machine testing?
Customers don’t walk into Malabar expecting a calibration error that only appears when they’re selling gold.
They walk in expecting the purity printed on their receipt.
The FIR is real.
The readings are on record.
The machine was seized.
Malabar still hasn’t explained why the same piece of gold needed a “setting” before it became 22 carat again.
Until they do, this isn’t a machine glitch.
It’s a business model.

But what if we could explore the miracle of our own minds with the same phone we use every day? 📱
I'm practicing Miracle of Mind by Sadhguru, a simple 7-minute meditation.
What if those seven minutes could open the door to a deeper experience of ourselves? 🧠
I encourage everyone to try the Miracle of Mind app by Sadhguru.
Have you tried it? 🙏
I love having "marudhani" in my hands for all seasons and reasons. ❤️ Watching them grown in a vast land itself is increasing my dopamine.... have also used commercially available mehandi cones available in the markets.

THE ACTOR WHO BUILT A ₹3,300-CRORE BUSINESS EMPIRE, SURVIVED PARALYSIS AND RETURNED TO CINEMA!
Meet Arvind Swamy, the man whose life story is far more extraordinary than his on-screen image.
Most people remember him as the charming star of Roja and Bombay. Few know what he overcame behind the scenes.
1. AN UNUSUAL FAMILY STORY
Actor Delhi Kumar was Arvind Swamy’s biological father. However, Arvind was adopted by his maternal aunt Vasantha and her husband, industrialist V.D. Swamy, who raised him.
His adoptive mother was a renowned Bharatanatyam dancer, while his adoptive father was a prominent businessman associated with international trade and steel exports.
2. BORN INTO WEALTH, BUT EDUCATED TO LEAD
Arvind completed his commerce degree at Loyola College, Chennai, and pursued higher studies in international business at Wake Forest University in North Carolina.
Unlike many aspiring actors, he came from an affluent business family. Acting was never his only ambition.
3. REJECTED BEFORE HE BECAME A STAR
During his college days, Arvind faced rejection from his theatre group and was reportedly asked to get off the stage.
His fortunes changed when filmmaker Mani Ratnam noticed him and introduced him to cinema through Thalapathi (1991), alongside Rajinikanth and Mammootty.
Then came Roja (1992) and Bombay (1995).
His looks, screen presence and performances made him one of the most memorable romantic heroes of the 1990s.
4. HE WALKED AWAY FROM STARDOM
At the height of his popularity, Arvind gradually stepped away from films to concentrate on business and family life.
He took charge of V.D. Swamy and Company and held leadership positions in other businesses. He later founded Talent Maximus, a company specialising in payroll processing and staffing solutions.
His business career became a remarkable second chapter beyond cinema.
5. THEN CAME THE BIGGEST BATTLE OF HIS LIFE
In 2005, Arvind suffered a serious spinal injury in an accident that left him with partial paralysis in one leg.
He endured years of pain, treatment and rehabilitation. At one point, even walking short distances was a tremendous challenge.
He remained away from films for approximately 13 years.
6. HE FOUGHT HIS WAY BACK
In 2013, Mani Ratnam brought him back to the screen with Kadal.
His return was not merely a comeback for an actor. It was a personal victory after years of physical suffering.
He subsequently reinvented himself with powerful performances in films such as Thani Oruvan, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam and Thalaivii.
From a rejected college theatre aspirant to a celebrated actor and entrepreneur, Arvind Swamy has lived several lives in one.
He had wealth before fame, success beyond cinema, and the courage to return after a devastating setback.
Arvind Swamy is proof that a person's greatest role is sometimes the one they play in their own life.

Recipe Alert🤗
Left with lot of oranges at home. It's one of my favourite fruits after mango and banana.
Tried this old recipe for the first time.
Orange Rasam.
Ground a tomato along with jeera, ginger, pepper, dhaniya seeds. Added it to boiled toor+moong dal. Added water, salt , turmeric and little sambar powder.
Bring it to a very mild frothy boil
Added juice from 2 oranges just before switching of the stove. Coriander leaves to garnish. Temper with mustard and jeera in ghee.
All done.
Am yet to taste it. Hope it satisfies my daughter's expectation. She is the best critic in our home😀

This is what many said about TikTok as well and India is doing just fine without it.
The point is that no foreign company should hold a country hostage and demand exemptions from local laws applicable to every other company.
If the interests of the nation are the top priority, we will think differently and not stay slaves to such companies.
In case you missed this amazing news by IT minister Ashwini:
By the end of October 2028, India will have Indian designed, India manufactured, Indian brand of mobile phones.
But let me tell you this now itself: No company (Not even Apple) today can manufacture a phone 100% by itself. A "Made in China" phone has 60-80% of its parts imported and assembled in China.
So even when India designs and makes its own boards, chips, and many other parts to manufacture is own mobile phone, there will be blackpillers who will tell you "this is assembled, not manufactured" to disillusion you.
This is what India's adversary wants Indians to believe and feel disillusioned about as part of their psychological warfare.
Now, if some Indian wants to be part of it, if they "feel good" believing such blackpilling for certain ideological reasons, let me warn - in the long term, it will affect their brains negatively, literally degrade it, as per latest research.

Two questions from Sage Narada changed Ratnakara forever:
“Why do you rob others?”
“Will your family share your sin?”
Realising that no one else could bear his karma, Ratnakara surrendered at Narada’s feet.
Narada guided him toward Rama-nama. Through years of tapas, he became Maharshi Valmiki.
Later, Narada narrated the Sankshepa Ramayana, inspiring Valmiki to compose the Ramayana.
Happy Valmiki Jayanti 🙏
