Can be as oil rich as we want but red tape preventing pipelines. Though taking Canada off Alberta’s welfare check has garnered some interest

The liberals love to blame Danielle. The cult can’t blame carney or Trudy. The electoral reform the liberals wanted when Harper got power sure didn’t happen when they got it #shocker Laurentian elite erotica writers must work at cbc
I’m really tired of the endless chorus line of CBCNN panelists blaming AB Premier Danielle Smith for this referendum. Alberta is having a referendum because of a) Justin Trudeau and b) Laurentian Canada’s steadfast refusal to treat Alberta as a respected member of the Canadian family. Period.

I was born in Calgary. I've spent my whole life in Toronto. Over the past two years, filming the documentary Broken Country, I've spent more time in Alberta than I have since I moved east. And I've come away seeing the separation debate very differently than I did going in. I met a lot of separatists. Almost none of them were who I expected. They weren't angry cranks with a flag. They were farmers, nurses, oil workers, small-business owners, grandparents. And the thing that surprised me most: most of them want nothing more than to remain in Canada. They just can't see another choice. Think about what they've lived through. The National Energy Program. Pipelines approved, then cancelled, then litigated into the ground. A tanker ban on one coast. Hundreds of billions sent east through equalization, returned as lectures about how the industry that pays for Canada's infrastructure and provincial shortfalls is something to be ashamed of. A federal government that has gone to court to argue Alberta's own resources aren't Alberta's business. And through all of it, a Parliament where their votes are a rounding error. You can disagree with every policy position Albertans hold and still see the pattern: a province that built one of the most productive economies on Earth, asked over and over to apologize for it. The people pushing for a referendum aren't traitors. They're patriots. They are standing up for what they believe in and fighting for a better future for their kids, a future their own federal government keeps telling them they don't deserve. That's not a tantrum. That's what citizens are supposed to do when nobody in power is listening. I'll say it plainly: I want nothing more than for Alberta to stay in Canada. This country is not whole without it. If Alberta leaves the country I love and am fighting for will cease to exist. But maybe a referendum vote is exactly the wake-up call the rest of us need. Not because Alberta should leave, but because the rest of Canada has to finally decide whether it wants to be a partner or a landlord.

I'm not really a conspiracy theorist but it seems kinda suspicious how Trump always picks this up again everytime the Carney government does something that would actually tank their approval ratings. It's almost like the Yankess are trying to bury said actions in the news cycle here to shield Carney from scrutiny. Carney just started talking about opening the immigration floodgates and this starts up again.

There was a time when this sort of corruption would draw criticism from media, pundits and pretty much everyone.
The federal government recently revealed it will not recoup $34-million in funds spent on ineligible environmental technology projects, drawing criticism from the official opposition. hilltimes.com/2026/09/29/fed…

Hahahahha laurentian elite erotica is a great line
Can someone explain to @MarkJCarney that we're not going to send the Alabama Nat'l Guard to conquer Canada in the middle of college football season? They can't afford a weekend away. If he must pump out Laurentian Elite erotica to boost hysteria, at least make it believable.

Liberals should never complain about lack of funding for social programs as for 12 years you have elected the govt that just gives money away to other countries like candy being thrown on the street in a parade.

Had me in the first half lol
I know I make take some heat for saying this, but It's not Mark Carneys fault that Canada is performing so poorly; it's not fair to blame him for everything. Afterall, he inherited this economy from Justin Trudeau and special economic advisor Mark Carney.

Time for Canada and the USA to sit down and make a trade deal Most trading countries are lined up to trade with the USA Not pivoting away from that market
Breaking‼️ The US is looking to pivot from Canada's Potash to Belarus. Donald Trump announced a new deal coming. It isn't realistic for Belarus imports to replace Canada’s but any loss in market share will be devastating.

Yep keep lying Carney.
PM Carney claimed today that industrial carbon pricing has “zero” direct or indirect impact on food prices. That is not true. Ottawa’s own modelling estimated millions in carbon-pricing costs for food, beverage manufacturing in 2022, when the carbon tax was $20 per tonne. Now, it's $110 per tonne. Costs do not simply disappear. Source: Canada Gazette.

Ask yourself why he did that.
If you're tired of seeing tens of millions of tax dollars spent on partisan "Government of Canada" ads, consider PM Carney changed the guidelines that explicitly prohibited government advertisements that "are self-congratulatory or self-praising in nature." #cdnpolitics
