CBC should probably mention that this happened under the Harper government.
An embarrassing multi-million-dollar accounting error that was covered up for years at Veterans Affairs Canada will end up costing taxpayers almost $1 billion. cbc.ca/news/politics/veteran… .

Don, I’m sensing that vast majority of Albertans don’t insist on closing private schools. Instead, Albertans don’t want to see any government funding of private schools.

If all private schools closed their doors tomorrow, the public system would be overloaded, and the costs would rise. Choice is important.

They need $40k for these young men and women to finish their seasons and there are two professional teams down the road in LA who could find that money in their couch cushions. @Lakers @LAClippers step up!

.@ABDanielleSmith You met with this Senator Marsha Blackburn? The MAGA Senator defending Trump’s January 6 assault on the Capitol?
Danielle, why not just declare your admiration for Putin?

My meeting with Senator @MarshaBlackburn was delightful.
We discussed Tennessee’s experience with nuclear power, including the future SMRs (Small Modular Reactors) and what Canada and Alberta can do to increase energy trade. I am thankful for her advice.
-Also loved her guitars! 🎸

A recent academic study found that oil sands carbon emissions are anywhere from 19X to 63X greater than the fossil fuel industry claims, calling Canada’s entire industry-appeasing approach to combatting the climate crisis into disrepute.

It should be noted that Canada's Official Opposition leader Pierre Poilievre is also a lobbyist - for the IDU.
The "International Democratic Union" (sic) is a global far-right organization run by Stephen Harper, and is literally funded by Batman villians.

.@AbDanielleSmith So let’s get this straight:
In Alberta, as per the Education Act, children can quit school at the age of 16, without graduating high school.(segment of your religious base insists on that)
Yet these same students can’t decide on their pronouns?
#ableg #abed
.@ABDanielleSmith In your interview on Power & Politics you argued that children, even with parental consent, must not be allowed to make life altering decisions.
In that case, should children be allowed to discontinue their education prior to 18 with parental consent?

Globe and Mail is part of a growing chorus strongly criticizing Smith's trans policies. Here is the final sentence. "But of course she didn’t, making it all too clear her harmful policies have very little to do with children’s health, and everything to do with politics."

Poilievre got caught red handed raising the cost of food prices across Canada with Galen Weston. He also allowed his MP’s to dine with Nazi Christine Anderson. And now he wants Trudeau to resign? He’s trying desperately to turn the page on the Loblaws scandal. Don’t let him.

.@PierrePoilievre That is a strange position to take for someone who allegedly believes in parental choice.
In Alberta, parents can consent to puberty blockers, like any other medical care, for kids under 18. Danielle Smith just took that parental consent away.

CONservative Leader @PierrePoilievre confirmed Wednesday that he supports @ABDanielleSmith's anti-LGBTQ+ agenda.
When asked directly whether he opposes the use of puberty blockers for gender-diverse youth under the age of 18, he said, "Yes."

For folks saying “Smith is right to stop gender reassignment surgery for kids under 18” the truth is this kind of surgery is NOT being done on kids under 18. The question people SHOULD be asking is: “why is Smith making such a big deal out of something that’s not happening?”
Is what "they're" saying on the internet true? Are little kids REALLY having gender reassignment surgery in Alberta?

Former Western University hockey player Kaitlyn Booth says she asked head coach Candice Moxley for help after a fellow coach allegedly sexually harassed and touched her inappropriately while she was working out.
Booth: “Moxley told me that I should wear longer shorts. That was it. That was her response. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.”
Booth, Western's team MVP in both 2021-22 and 2022-23, is among nine former players who say Moxley has fostered a toxic culture within the program for years. Several former players say they are on antidepressants and anti-anxiety medication because of their time at Western.
