Big trouble here for Scott Jennings. A $72.5 million defamation lawsuit is no small matter, especially when the allegations involve a manipulated video and a fabricated quote. This could get very ugly for him. It’s about time this sort of deception has consequences.

Piker asking for $27.5m in compensatory damages, $45m in punitive damages.

UPDATE: Judge Carter ends his hearing with a warning to DOJ:
"This court believes it would be wise that any threats to state and county elected employees cease immediately. Good night."
He will issue a formal ruling tomorrow but appears to be rejecting DOJ's emergency efforts.

Trump's DOJ failed to indict one of his foes again.
Again, it's very rare for a grand jury not to indict. The fact that it's happened repeatedly with attempted indictments of Trump's foes is extremely telling about the validity of these cases.
