role-model is here: a model router for Pi that works with (almost) any cloud model as well as local models.
Set up your pool of models, whether GPT 5.5 and DeepSeek V4, or Qwen 27B and Qwen 35B running locally, or combine and route between your local model for general chat and tool use and cloud models for more difficult tasks.
role-model is a router runtime and and a forward-looking routing protocol that can enable consumer applications like Pi to classify its requests with required capabilities, task-type and suitable roles for better matching between task, role, and model.
pi-role-model is a package for Pi that lets Pi manage and interact with role-model. role-model works perfectly with Pi even without the package - just configure your models in role-model, then configure role-model as your provider in Pi and choose routing alias.
Install the package for Pi:
’pi install npm:@try-works/pi-role-model’
Then let your agent install and configure the role-model runtime or point it to:
‘github.com/try-works/role-mo…’
role-model is in an early alpha release - let me know bugs, issues or usability questions. also, tell me if it just happens to work perfectly for you!
there's lots more to do and you can help by installing and running role-model, and by reposting this tweet!
thx
Here's a serious and thorough post about the state of affairs at @Kimi_Moonshot and more importantly the possible causes. This is a long post, built on more than a decade of experience.
I have been roasting them for the past two days, but a month ago I also defended them when Anthropic said they routed Kimi user requests to Opus - see my Articles.
First, let's start with an overview of what Moonshot has done to its users over the past 6 months:
- Cut Kimi plan quotas so bad after the K2.7 and K3 releases that they're all unusable and basically scams. OpenAI's cuts are bad; Kimi's are twice as bad
- Released K3 in July with a campaign of unmarked, sponsored influencer post with faked videos of what their model had supposedly produced - I called it out then, too
- Price fixed Kimi K3: inference providers in the US and EU are not allowed to set their own prices but must follow the minimum prices set by Moonshot. This is illegal in every functioning country; Apple got convicted for this with their ebook pricing, remember?
- Stole the open source code from Cua, relabelled it and claimed they had invented computer use in their Kimi agent
- Released K3.1 with another unmarked influencer campaign, with more fake videos
- Tampered with K3.1 benchmark scores for DeepSeek in their release materials
When you look at the above, you see that these are pretty serious things that could break any brand. If you do this, you either have to think your users are stupid, or not care, or be stupid yourself.
When it comes international brands selling into China, and Chinese brands selling to international markets, they both exhibit all three characteristics.
I've heard to many Europeans talk about their business ideas: just pick a product, slap a European-brand on it, talk about it being from whichever country, and then the Chinese customers will just buy it without thought.
This never works, but these entrepreneurs are ignorant, have no will to learn the market, and regard their potential customer base as NPCs. They view China as another world and cannot reason about it, and because they cannot reason about China, they cannot treat it seriously.
For this reason, there have been numerous advertising scandals with European brands getting slaughtered online, because their leadership in HQ outside of China made tone dead decisions in their communication. D&G, Prada, Nike, adidas, Arcteryx, there's been too many internet campaigns against brands for their ad campaigns to remember.
For most Chinese companies trying to go international, it is the same but in reverse. They do not understand the international markets, they don't care to educate themselves, they see the world outside China as something otherly, and feel shielded from any negative repercussions from far away countries. They see their users as NPCs.
If you wanted to get a refund for your Kimi coding plan, what can you really do? Most likely nothing, and your X posts won't get noticed.
When it comes to the campaign for the K3.1 launch, Moonshot did a number of things that just spell incompetence:
- Create ready made videos for publishing by influencers, this is basically unheard of
- Try to hide that posts are sponsored, to generate the impression of organic user feedback
- Require approval before publication
When you do these kinds of campaigns, you don't ask for approval because you need to trust the creator; otherwise the content suffers.
You don't try to hide that videos are sponsored, because the potential backlash for this type of manipulation is 100x worse than the value, as we see now.
And well, creating fake videos.... 无语。
Some have speculated that the error is on the side of a marketing agency, but that is unlikely. The brief is always created by the company for the agency, and everything that goes out is approved by the customer.
Most likely, the marketing team at Moonshot must have said that doing hidden influence campaigns like this is risky, but could have been forced by leadership who wanted to "ensure ROI" on their marketing investment by controlling content.
So what it really comes down to is a company leadership that does not know or care about laws in other markets or does not care about them, feel like this type of manipulation is worth the risk, and see users as NPCs.
At the end of the day, this is false advertising and when you combine this with Moonshot's price fixing, it is not just that it is dishonest but it is complete and utter disrespect of laws of other countries - mind you, all of this is certainly illegal in China, too.
To close this out, what really needs to happen now is that the price fixing is reported and investigated. Inference providers are clearly not able to push back on Moonshot themselves, as they're in a competition to be able to offer the newest hyped model as soon as possible.
Don't ban the models, but hit down hard on illegal business practices by the company.

Trump:
Why do we always have to take people from shithouse countries?
Why can't we take people from Norway, Sweden, Denmark?
Users in China also getting scammed by Moonshot. Thankfully in China there's a central hotline you can call when you get scammed, and it enforces refunds in these kind of contract-breaking scenarios
Did you know that New Sweden was established in Delaware in 1638 by the Queen of Sweden, and that the Bronx in New York is named after the Swedish farmer Jonas Bronck's farm, Bronck's Land?
This is why manipulating X is so important for Chinese labs. It is ground zero for influence in the global tech scene.
Claude Opus”)?

moonshot (the kimi ppl) is such a funny company. b4 their new kimi k3.1 pro dropped, their official acct reposted the team lead's tweet & i was like… cringe. felt like bro was dying to be famous. then everyone's credits ran out super fast which just means they don't have enough compute. now this whole promo mess… they're hilarious i can't even. i just went looking for that team lead tweet their official acct reposted & it's gone now. so y'all got time to log in & delete tweets but not to clear things up. what a weak useless company
Your goal as a developer should be to build a workflow that allows you to use Flash models for 100% of your work.
I don’t think folks realize just how insane DeepInfer is.
One cluster with DeepInfer. IN One day. Can produce AS MUCH tokens AS OpenRouter in an entire week.
“A single cluster currently serves 155 trillion tokens per day, with overall revenue of US$38 per GPU-hour (at valley pricing).” - "DeepSeek V4.1 Flash Inference Deployment Q&A"
I wanted to know what “a single cluster” actually means here. So I worked backward from the numbers DeepSeek shared:
-- 60,000 fresh input tokens/sec per prefill GPU
-- 14,000 output tokens/sec per decode GPU
-- Roughly a 1:1 prefill-to-decode GPU ratio
-- 77K average input length
-- 96% input cache hit rate
Insane perf numbers but otherwise pretty resonable assumptions on the user side.
With only 4% of input needing fresh processing, each prefill GPU serves:
60,000 ÷ 4% = 1.5 million input tokens/sec
Add the decode side:
1,500,000 + 14,000 = 1,514,000 tokens/sec × 86,400 seconds = 130.8 billion tokens/day.
Now divide the cluster’s reported 155 trillion by that:
155 trillion ÷ 130.8 billion ≈ 1,185 pairs.
That’s ~1,185 prefill GPUs + ~1,185 decode GPUs.
Roughly 2,400 B200 GPUs.
And how many B200-family GPUs have shipped worldwide?
An estimated 2.2–3.0 MILLION by July 2026.
This cluster’s inferred GPU count is about 0.1% of that estimated shipped base.
🤯🤯🤯
"Every AI lab does this" is a pathetic excuse and by saying it, you're basically just trying to let them off the hook for being dishonest cheats.
I get approached every single day for ad spots, and the overwhelming majority of them require you to mark them as a paid promo. That is required by the FTC btw.
And they certainly dont ask you to share geo political talking points from a foreign nation.
We know that every ad campaign is given a brief of talking points obviously. That is not the problem.
The problem is pretty obvious, I think, but apparently it needs to be spelled out for some of you:
> they are explicitly REQUIRING you do not mark it as an ad (illegal)
> they made completely fabricated demos which they recorded themselves to give to influencers to pass off as their own to make the model look better than it is
> then they specifically asked them to push the narrative that China has caught up to the US, and that its basically Free Opus - which is not only false, but political propaganda.
> then they tried to cover it up and still havent addressed it
If you can't see the problem with that, it is because you don't have any integrity. You are literally the problem.
Yes, undisclosed advertising happens all the time, but to say everyone is doing is is flat out false.
Furthermore, if a company is doing that, guess what? They should also be exposed. It's not rocket science, folks.
Wrong is wrong, and no self respecting, legitimate company that cares about their reputation, or has an ounce of integrity, will ask you to do this.
Another one I'm seeing: "Every VC does this"
No they dont. Because its illegal. And it can get you banned from X. If one asks you to do it, blast them.
Simple.

Moonshot faked benchmarks and switched out DeepSeek scores
DeepSeek开源、极便宜、迭代快;

Post 4 Exposing Kimi AI
This is what they require each one participating in their creators campaign to do, basically trash talk Astra and Opus even tho it's not true and as you can see you pick from already existing demos and share them and I doubt any of it is actually made by kimi and if it is it's not one shot like most paid accounts say.
That's how Kimi AI are promoting their new model Kimi K3.1 pro and I know all the influencers working with them and none of them are honest,I have posted about it myself but I didn't join this and never used their templates that they provide.
PROPAGANDA, I have more to share it's f**cked up I'm gonna have follow up for this

Until I test it myself I'm assuming everyone saying Kimi K3 is at Fable level is a shill
It's time to investigate whether Chinese labs are paying for benchmark scores.
Did you know that there's a European design award called 'reddot design award' where 100% of Chinese award recipients have paid for the award? This is for hardware products like phones, cameras etc. I have worked at several Chinese companies that bought these awards.
Is @Kimi_Moonshot paying for benchmark scores in the same way? All they have to do is change a number on a graph.
BREAKING: Kimi K3.1 Pro by @Kimi_Moonshot is projected to rank #1 among open-weights models on DesignArena's Website leaderboard, and is tied for #3 among all models.
Kimi K3.1 Pro has a 15 Elo point lead on their previous model, Kimi K3, on the open weights leaderboard. Among all models it ranks behind only Muse Wonder (max) and Muse Spark 1.3 (xhigh). That ties it with Muse Spark 1.3 Max for third place on the overall Website leaderboard.
Congrats to the @Kimi_Moonshot team on the launch!

btw, half or maybe more of the Kimi K3.1 Pro posts you're seeing here are paid. just content copy-pasted from a doc
and it's not only kimi, plenty of other model posts too
companies are reaching out over email, and the very first mail says "no paid partnership label"
so don't trust any demo. just give it a shot yourself lol

Typical Chinese company behavior. It's the same for smartphones too.
Post 2 exposing Kimi AI
That's the creators campaign docs I got from Kimi AI after their Kimi K3.1 pro release and thats the narrative they want creators to push, of course I'm out and I'm never gonna say something I don't test myself and give my honest opinion about and I don't want to be involved in this China vs US political situation.
