Thanks to everyone who’s followed me on my Twitter and latterly X account over the past few years but for fairly obvious reasons I won’t now be posting on this site. You’ll find me on Instagram for words and images of books, gardening, art and, of course, Cornwall.

With a packed audience at @StratLitFest to talk to @paddygrant about ethical fashion, #CommunityClothing and of course #SewingBee.

Padstow May Day 1977 was - quite by the chance - the day I came to Cornwall so delighted to see #BarbaraSanti ‘s marvellous #KingForADay at @NewlynFilmhouse. Do see it if you can.
Congratulations and thanks to all the organisers and exhibitors at this year’s @CwllGardenSoc #SpringFlowerShow. A huge success yesterday - with blue skies! - and more to come today!
Part of my reading list for @StratLitFest. Great books and great authors as part of a terrific programme. Tix and info through their website.
Great new exhibition by the fab #emmajeffryes at @NewCraftsman in St Ives plus amazing wooden vessels by #AnthonyBryant.

Enormous thanks to everyone at @WaterstonesTRU for their continued support for #SecretGardensOfCornwall. Great to see copies in the window and on featured displays.
A new season of discovering Cornwall’s amazing gardens is just beginning! X
West Cornwall Horticultural Society’s Spring Show in Marazion. The first show of the season. Caulis, camellias and cake. Splendid. And on again today.
Really impressed by the gardens at @thenewtsomerset. Amazing attention to detail in the planting and the design. Three hundred varieties of British apples beautifully grown.
Is this the best coffee-with-a-view in Cornwall? Congratulations to everyone at @minacktheatre on the cafe renovation!
More plants in the Canaries? No .. Penwith! Congratulations to @PenberthPlants and @minacktheatre - the new #GreatGarden of Cornwall!

Top tip to grow aeoniums:
1. Push into tiny crack between wall and window frame.
2. Walk away.

After yesterday’s “roots” master class, today we move on to “grafting” and “pollarding”…

Canarian roof “gardens” - the channels in the tiles & the terracotta itself hold just enough moisture for plants to grow in virtually nothing.
