Lia PEREIRA / Trennt MICHAUD 🇨🇦 CAN | [77.06] On their performance Michaud: It's very good. There's definitely still some room left on the table for the program, but we're really happy with that performance. We had a really strong start with it in Nebelhorn, and we've been working really hard 'cause we were so happy with how it went there. We just wanna keep pushing ourselves, and took another step in that direction today, so it's very fun. On handling nerves Pereira: I think one thing that we noticed about ourselves as a team, is we actually like to be nervous. When you feel nervous, you really hate it in the moment. But when you're outside the competition, you understand that the nerves really do help performance, and that's the reason why we continue to pursue this sport, is that adrenaline, nervous feeling. So we've really harnessed how to control that, and I think it showed today in our performance that we just skated like a show program. We were here for Stars on Ice. Feels very familiar. On choosing the music Michaud: We wanted to try something very different for us. We are very upbeat people in the ones we've done before. This is just a more mature version of that. We brought that to Maddie and Adrian and Scott in London, and they're like, "Yep, we agree. This is a great direction to go." And then when we showed up, they put the Baiana piece to it, and right away we were like, "Whoa. This is even cooler." On belonging among the world's best Michaud: When I started skating with Lia, I was like, "We have that potential." I knew that right away. Our first year at Worlds, we came sixth. We were still learning new elements, but within those next seasons, we won a Grand Prix. We went to the Final. It was like we do belong here. It took more time. We had to go through more things to get better and push ourselves more. So we've always had that belief in us that we are one of those top teams. We're just more experienced at doing it, so we feel more confident in it. It hasn't changed who we are. #GPFigure #FigureSkating
