After the 2018 Farm Bill opened the hemp loophole, intoxicating THC products flooded gas stations and smoke shops, often in candy-style packaging.
Then kids started showing up in poison control data.
In Texas, marijuana-related poison control calls jumped from 923 in 2019 to 2,592 in 2024.
The Texas Poison Control Center reported a 495% increase in marijuana-related calls involving children age 5 and under from 2017 to 2022.
The House Rules Committee needs to close the hemp loophole NOW!

The House Rules Committee is reviewing the Farm Bill today including amendments dealing with intoxicating hemp.
This is the moment to close the loophole.
The 2018 Farm Bill was supposed to help farmers grow industrial hemp.
Instead, it opened the door for shady operators to flood the country with synthetic junk like delta-8, THC-O, and THC-P that gets kids high.
End it.

Tomorrow, the Rules Committee will debate the Farm Bill, including the future of intoxicating hemp.
In states where marijuana is illegal, kids are still getting high on delta-8 through the hemp loophole.
No serious ID checks. Candy-style packaging. Gas station and online access.
This is how you hook the next generation before they can even drive.
Congress needs to end it.

President Trump supported hemp to help American farmers and consumers.
He did not sign up for delta-8, THC-P, synthetic garbage, candy packaging, and gas station drugs getting kids high.
As the House Rules Committee reviews the Farm Bill tomorrow, Congress has a chance to update the law and end this loophole for good.

Interesting poll- my numbers are doing just fine.
It’s not redistricting bringing numbers down or she wouldn’t be doing worse than the “yes” campaign.
The problem she has to correct is her policies don’t match her rhetoric from the campaign trail. Her issue is credibility.
New @StateNavigate poll: "Our findings come on the heels of the Washington Post/Schar School (GMU) poll that rocked the Commonwealth, showing Spanberger as the most historically unpopular Governor at this point in the most recent Virginia Governors’ terms. 47% of likely voters approve of Governor Spanberger, and 47% disapprove. There’s much more hardcore disapprovers than hardcore approvers, too: 41% of likely voters strongly disapprove of the Governor, while 31% strongly approve; 4% somewhat disapprove, and 11% somewhat approve. This makes Abigail Spanberger one of the most unpopular Governors in the country."

There’s a problem. There are people like myself that have been fighting for many years spending millions of dollars they don’t even have, fighting for proper legalization.
A mistake happens, a loophole is taken advantage of, and suddenly there’s this whole black legal market, a fake industry. Not doing the right thing. Not paying taxes. Faking COAs. Selling to minors at gas stations. And they and others are saying it’s all the same cannabis industry. It’s not. It’s not even close.
And then Anthony people want us to come together. You’re asking a police officer and a criminal to come together for the good of the industry. It’s two separate industries, and one of them is not trying to be good but just to exist, and the other already exists and is trying to be good.
The only way this comes together is if Hemp follows existing Cannabis rules. Then they are welcome.
