October 6, 1990: The “Fifth Down Game.” The refs inexplicably give Colorado 5 downs to score the winning TD and beat Missouri 33-31. The TD was also a very close call. CU would finish 11-1-1 & ranked #1 in the AP Poll to win a share of Natl title.

Our nation has become nothing but thieves in every way. Stealing oil, stealing wealth (through manipulated markets that play favorites). Wow, I hate to feel this way, but how else can we see it?

Someone explain this to me slowly, because I'm clearly the idiot here. We plant a Mediterranean nut in a Californian desert. It doesn't rain there, so we drain a ten-thousand-year-old aquifer until the ground itself sinks a foot a year and whole towns get shorter. The trees can't fight off fungus, so we spray the lot. They can't pollinate themselves, so every February we truck thirty billion bees across a continent and let a fair share of them die in the crush. Then we chill the harvest and sail it six thousand miles to Britain, where it rains constantly and always has, to be blitzed with water and gums and sold to you at £2.40 a carton with a green leaf on the side. That is the environmentally friendly option. Twelve miles down the road there's a bloke with cattle in a field. Rain falls on the hill. Grass drinks it. Cow eats grass. Nothing pumped, sprayed, chilled or shipped. No bees died. Her entire supply chain is weather. That is the planetary emergency. And it'll be explained to you by someone holding a carton of desert water, wearing a fleece made of crude oil. Asking for the cow. She's been very patient about it.

🎉 Happy Birthday 🎉 to my amazing little sister! Wishing you a day filled with love, joy, and happiness! 🥳 Everything you have accomplished in chess is truly admirable— not only as a competitor, but also as the visionary and driving force behind outstanding initiatives such as the Global Chess Festival and the Chess Palace program, etc. To me, though, you are first and foremost the warm-hearted, selfless, and always caring sister with whom I can share anything. We can laugh together, and when life brings difficult moments, we can cry together too. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful sister. I am incredibly proud of you, and I wish you many, many more birthdays filled with good health, love, happiness, and continued success. I love you very much! ❤️ 😘🎉🥳🎂🎁🎊🎈 – at Budapest, Hungary

Patient: "What are the side effects of the statin?" Doctor: "Some people get muscle aches. Usually mild." Patient: "And if I get them?" Doctor: "We'd add naproxen for the pain." Patient: "Does naproxen have side effects?" Doctor: "It can irritate the stomach. Reflux, sometimes an ulcer. So we'd add omeprazole to protect it." Patient: "And omeprazole?" Doctor: "Long term it lowers your magnesium. Your B12 as well. We'd top those up." Patient: "With more tablets." Doctor: "Magnesium, and B12 if the bloods come back low." Patient: "And the magnesium does what?" Doctor: "Loosens the bowels. Loperamide settles that." Patient: "That's six tablets. I walked in with no symptoms." Doctor: "Could be seven. The statin can raise your blood sugar. We'd watch it, maybe start metformin." Patient: "And metformin?" Doctor: "Upsets the stomach. Lowers your B12." Patient: "We already did B12." Doctor: "Round we go." Patient: "Is a single one of these treating something I actually feel?" Doctor: "No. But your numbers will look excellent."

1918: they sold radioactive water as a health tonic. It was radium, and it dissolved men's jaws. 1898: they sold heroin as a children's cough syrup. It was heroin. 1863: they sold cocaine wine as a daily pick-me-up. Popes and presidents put their names to it. 1946: they sold cigarettes on a doctor's recommendation. Whole campaigns ran on which brand physicians preferred. 1960s: they sold margarine as the heart-healthy fat. It was loaded with the trans fat that actually stops hearts. Every one of these came with an expert's blessing and total confidence. The people telling you today which fat to fear are the institutional descendants of the ones who put radium in your water and a doctor's face on a cigarette packet. "The experts recommend it" has a body count going back a century.

Happy Father's Day, Mr. Marshall. The fact that you took your own time at 2AM to be with your son (during discipline) shows that you care. Haters gonna hate. Active, caring, engaged fathers are what our world hates, and exactly what our world needs.

These tasty fuckers better be served at 898 degrees Fahrenheit so that every Millennial and Gen Z person burns their lips, tongue, and mouth roof so bad they can understand what the 70s and 80s were like.

When I worked there, we'd get to eat the ones that were on the warmer 30 minutes for free. Put that bad boy in a large drink cup and cover it with soft serve. Man I miss the 80's.

Amazing tournament! And, hey, that second place check ain't bad, either.
A 24-year-old Polish tennis player arrived in Paris last week ranked 114th in the world, with no sponsors, no guaranteed income, and no certainty she could even pay for her hotel room. She had to win three qualifying matches just to enter the French Open main draw. Prize money is only paid at the end of the tournament, so a Polish sports drink brand quietly stepped in and covered her hotel bill. Her name is Maja Chwalinska. And today, she plays in the French Open final. Before this tournament, she had won exactly one Grand Slam main draw match in her entire career. She had battled depression so severe that in 2021 she couldn't get out of bed. She underwent knee surgery in 2022. She spent years grinding through small tournaments across Europe just to stay afloat. Then she arrived in Paris, won three qualifiers, and kept winning. Zheng Qinwen. Elise Mertens. Maria Sakkari. Diana Shnaider. Nine straight matches. One set dropped. She is now the first qualifier in French Open history to reach the final. The last time a qualifier reached a Grand Slam final, it was Emma Raducanu at the 2021 US Open. Raducanu won. By simply making the final, Chwalinska has earned more prize money than her entire career combined. The runner-up cheque alone is $1.6 million. If she wins today, she takes home $3.25 million. One week ago she couldn't pay for her hotel room.

The Iranian navy, which has been destroyed eight times, has apparently closed the Strait of Hormuz again, because the United States, for the seventh time, won the war that wasn’t a war, so now the United States has to open the Strait of Hormuz that was already open before the not-war began. The not-war began because Iran had uranium that was totally, completely, beautifully obliterated, so they can’t build the nuclear bomb they weren’t building, which is why the United States had to start the not-war it definitely didn’t start. Now the United States, which has nuclear weapons, is threatening to use nuclear weapons to stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons, because nuclear weapons are far too dangerous for countries with nuclear weapons to allow other countries to have. If the United States saw the United States doing what the United States does in other countries, the United States would invade the United States to liberate the United States from the tyranny of the United States.

So let me get this straight. Jake Tapper is focused on attacking my Mom. Jared and Ivanka are building a private island paradise on Albanian protected land. Don Jr married the daughter of Epstein’s banker, and a startup his fund backs just got a record $620M Pentagon loan. Eric is taking an Israeli drone company public for $1.5B in the middle of a war with Iran that nobody wanted. And I know: “But what about your paintings, Hunter?” Please.
