I’m Tyler Sousa, a Journalism & Broadcasting student at the University of Kentucky and host of the Horse Racing Daily podcast on Youtube.
Follow along for racing news, analysis and recaps as I work toward a career in horse racing broadcasting.
I would hang this on my wall.
He is likely to finish his racing career as the all-time leading money earner and his worldwide popularity draws massive crowds, but Forever Young found a quiet moment @BreedersCup 2026 on a pristine and crisp morning @keeneland. Carlos Calo/Eclipse Sportswire/Breeders' Cup
“How do we make racing fans for life?”
Well, it’s pretty simple. Just take a look at this photo.
This week alone has made me fans of Forever Young and his team!

Antonio Fresu keeps the stick in his pocket and lets Shoot It True do her thing to win the $200,000 New York Filly and Mare Turf Sprint Championship by a half-length.
Anyone who can answer this is welcome to. When is the new NYRA Bets app expected to roll out? I remember hearing in late August that it was coming this fall, but it still hasn’t been released. Is there an expected release date?
Irad Ortiz Jr. suffered a broken ankle and will need surgery. He is out indefinitely, according to his agent, Steve Rushing.
Brutal timing as the Breeders cup is next week and Ortiz came back 3 weeks ago from being sidelined due to an ankle injury.
Early Voting, the 7-year-old son of Gun Runner and freshman sire of a Grade 1 winner, was euthanized due to colic, majority owner Dr. Paddy O’Casaigh announced Oct. 20.
Flavien Prat had himself a day, winning on all five of his mounts, and now he is one win behind Irad Ortiz Jr. for the Keeneland fall meet jockey title.
Ewing has sadly passed away at the age of 3.
The Grade 1 winner captured a top level victory at age 2 before passing away far too soon.
Rest in peace, Ewing. Everyone told me the highs were high & the lows were low.. I feel like this year has been a solid dose of both. I loved everything about Ewing and I think it’s the perfect reflection of the opportunities I’ve been given. Thank you @DJ_Stable @westpointtbred @markecasse for this photo. He was my first winners circle walk in and I will remember this pic for the rest of my life. He meant a lot to me. Love you, handsome boy 🐎💨

BREAKING NEWS 🚨
Over the past four days, I’ve purchased 1 million shares and close to a 1.5% stake in @ChurchillDowns, and I may acquire more. I’m extremely excited about the possibilities.
Churchill has tremendous assets, led by what I believe is the global crown jewel of horse racing, the @KentuckyDerby. Last year’s Derby peaked at 24.4 million viewers. To me, that’s a major proof point of how BIG this sport can become.
As the owner of Repole Stable, one of the largest, most successful and recognizable stables in the country, I see firsthand the potential of what I believe is one of the most undervalued sports nationally and globally.
Horse racing needs more education, real marketing, innovation, and evolution. It also needs stronger leadership and greater accountability from the Old Guard racing entities that, in my opinion, have held the industry back for far too long.
Nobody loves building epic businesses and brands in a disruptive way more than I do.
I believe a meaningful ownership stake in Churchill gives me the greatest opportunity to help create value for Churchill shareholders AND make a positive financial impact across all of racing.
Growing this sport means growing opportunities for everyone, owners, breeders, track operators, horseplayers, fans, and everyone whose livelihood depends on racing.
I really look forward to working with CEO Bill Carstanjen, his board, and management team to help turn that potential into both short term and long term results.
Think Big. Dream Bigger.
Keeneland Race 7:
• Schwarzenegger returns.
•Outfielder looks to bounce back.
•Throckmorton drops to the ALW ranks after knocking on the door of multiple stakes wins earlier this year.
•Oscar’s Hope makes his 3rd straight turf start after a G3 Mahony runner-up.
Grade 3 winner Touching Beauty has died.
Best known for her victory in the Grade 3 Comely Stakes at Aqueduct in 2010, Touching Beauty passed her talent on to her offspring.
She produced Just a Touch, a graded stakes-placed runner on both turf and dirt.
We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Touching Beauty, a beloved member of our broodmare band whose legacy will continue to be felt at Resolute for years to come
Touching Beauty was the dam of stakes winner and graded stakes-placed Just a Touch, who will race this Friday at Keeneland, as well as a yearling filly we are proud to have named Just a Beauty ♥️
While we are heartbroken to say goodbye, we are incredibly grateful to have Just a Beauty in our stable to carry on her mother’s legacy. She has begun the next chapter of her journey, heading to Ocala, Florida to enter pre-training as she takes her first steps toward a racing career of her own 🏇
Touching Beauty will be greatly missed by everyone who cared for her, but through the filly she has left behind, a piece of her will always remain with us 🤍
Sandman, winner of the 2025 Arkansas Derby, has been retired from racing and will stand at Rockridge Stud in Hudson, New York, for a $10,000 fee, live foal, stands and nurses (LFSN).
The son of Tapit earned the final victory of his career in the Arkansas derby, 557 days ago.
