Sure, a client could vibe design and code their own site, or any addition to it, but I still go to the barber and I'm happy to pay a good price for it. Could I cut my own hair? Yes. Would I look like shit? Also yes. DIY has always been around. AI just made it easy to apply to the digital world. But DIY is always going to look like DIY. Serious brands get this. They know their site is often the first impression people have of them, and they'd rather pay someone who does this every day than ship something that looks homemade. Those are the clients I work with, and they're not going anywhere.

The “1 prompt” slop engagement bait is getting boring. Generation itself is no longer impressive. Show me how you use your experience, taste and direction to actually push the web forward, rather than just doing what we’ve been doing for years, faster.

People tweeting postulates about Jev as if they've worked with it for decades, three days after it was released, is proof of how ridiculous the AI industry is.

For my soon-to-be-released DomGL SDK I render text on the GPU with the Slug algorithm, perfectly replicating the HTML text: font, weight, size, colour, tracking, leading, line breaks. The browser lays it out, the GPU paints it from the font's own outlines, one instanced quad per glyph. Sharp at any size, and every letter can move on its own. Get notified 👉 domgl.jesperlandberg.com

knowing that the majority of the work people are posting online was generated by agents that anyone can prompt makes that work considerable less impressive and interesting.

and similarly, just as knowing how to use photoshop doesn’t make you a designer… knowing how to prompt an agent to build or design something doesn’t make you a developer or designer. skills and taste are still required.

we, as a society, have fallen out of love with the process. everyone wants the reward, but nobody wants to bleed for it. you have to become addicted to the daily, unglamorous work of stacking bricks. you cannot bypass the ungodly toll it takes to become undeniable. fall in love with the relentless pursuit.

it’s unfortunate this is where things are going. no one cares about learning or really trying to understand. they’re just looking to have AI do it for them quickly so they can share online, get the likes, and receive another dopamine hit. then on to the next prompt. repeat.
Do it for me. Do it for me. I don't wanna think. I don't wanna understand. Just do it for me. How about it teaches you those damn Blender shortcuts and shows you how to make a rocket? What about questioning your strategy asking you to defeat it before putting on slides? What if AI assumed you IQ is not 67 and start from there? No struggle. No effort. No learning.

It's sad to see how many of my students would rather perfect their ai prompt than learn a skill.

Hey @google I’d like to report an error. The lake that borders New York and Ontario is an international body of water, and it is widely agreed by the entire world, except one rogue leader, that the name of this lake is “Lake Ontario” Grow a spine and fix it.

this has to be one of the most insane natural events.
A deep analysis of what may have lead to the Nepal glacial collapse and a breakdown of how the flood overtook communities in a matter if minutes. #Nepal #flood #weather

One of the greatest cheat codes in life is to never get offended. Train yourself to have thick skin. Don't take things personally. Let others disagree with you. Being easily offended means you're easily manipulated. If you value peace of mind, avoid getting offended.
