Une information affirmant que les combattants du Front pour la refondation de la nation (FRN), associé à Joseph Kabila, auraient pris le contrôle de Kawizi, au Sud-Kivu, ce lundi 26 octobre 2026, est fausse, selon les informations recueillies dans la zone.
Situé à moins de 10 kilomètres de la commune de Kavimvira, dans la ville d’Uvira, Kawizi est traversé par la route nationale n°5 (RN5). Aucune prise de contrôle par la coalition rebelle et aucun combat n’y ont été signalés. La même situation est rapportée à Kiliba et à Sange, dans les environs.
En revanche, des combats sont signalés depuis lundi matin dans le territoire de Walungu, aux alentours de Kaziba, où les Forces armées de la RDC (FARDC) et les combattants wazalendo font face à des attaques rebelles.
