No scripts. No actors. Just people. We sat down with real UHN patients, researchers, clinicians and staff and asked them one simple question: "Tell us about UHN."
Their stories became the foundation of our new #UHNITED ad campaign A celebration of what's possible when extraordinary people come together around one goal: helping patients move forward. UHNITED, we make more tomorrows possible. 💙
Big ideas need people willing to believe in them. Thanks to donor support, the work of @drandrewb and @UHN's Gattuso Centre for Social Medicine has grown from a bold vision into Dunn House, with an expansion that will help even more people access housing, care and support.
None of it would have happened without donors who believed in the idea and helped make it real. 💙
She came to cheer on her child's soccer game. She ended up saving a stranger's life.
Dr. Jessica Liu, Division Head, Internal Medicine and Geriatrics at @UHN, was on the sidelines at Rosedale Park when a young man suddenly collapsed nearby. Alongside Dr. Hedieh Molla Ghanbari and Daniel Tiberini, she jumped into action, performing CPR and helping revive him until paramedics arrived to take him to Toronto General Hospital. Today, he's fully recovered.
Dr. Liu was honoured with a Toronto Citizen Hero Award, because lifesaving moments can happen anywhere and heroes often show up when you least expect them.💙
A missed step. A face you didn't see approaching. A blurry spot that glasses can't quite fix. The signs of inherited retinal diseases (IRDs) can be easy to overlook, but their impact can be life changing.
For people living with IRDs, those changes can raise difficult questions. Dr. Brian Ballios, Clinician Scientist and retina specialist at @UHN's @DKJEI_UHN, is helping connect patients to specialized care while pushing the boundaries of retinal research.
With every new discovery, we're moving closer to a future where more patients have answers, more families have hope and more people can hold on to the gift of sight.💙
Your brain and body are constantly talking. What if better understanding that conversation could change medicine?
Researchers at @UHN and CAMH are joining forces in a world-first partnership to better understand how our mental and physical health shape one another. Their work could help explain why people living with mental illness are more likely to develop chronic disease and why physical illnesses can have such a profound impact on mental health.
By bringing together experts across disciplines, they're exploring questions that could unlock new treatments, speed up discoveries and improve care for millions of people.
Together, UHN Foundation and @camhfoundation are helping build the future of brain health. 🧠
#WorldMentalHealthDay
Before every discovery, there is a patient. Behind every innovation, there is a family searching for hope.
At UHN, we're driven by the people who trust us with their care and inspire us to keep pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
Together, we're creating more answers, more breakthroughs and more tomorrows for patients here and around the world.
That's what it means to be #UHNITED.
No one changes the world alone. Behind every milestone featured in our 2025–2026 Annual Report is a person who chose to make a difference.
Your support fuels discoveries, strengthens patient care, and helps bring innovative ideas to life at @UHN, creating impact that reaches far beyond our hospitals.
A gift can change a life. Thousands can change the future. 💙
Thank you Prime Minister Carney for recognizing that housing is health care. This expansion reflects a shared belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to live with stability, dignity and support. Dunn House has demonstrated the life-changing impact of combining supportive housing and health, and we're excited to see this initiative reach more people.
This is the power of a bold idea, backed by partners who believe in it. 💙
What started as a groundbreaking vision from @drandrewb supported by Emmanuelle Gattuso, has grown into Canada's first Social Medicine housing initiative, connecting patients experiencing homelessness or housing instability with supportive housing, health care and community supports.
With our commitment of $20 million, and thanks to the partnership of @UHN, @buildcanhomes, @_CreateTO and the @cityoftoronto, this incredible model is growing by creating approximately 200 more supportive housing units for UHN patients across three sites. Together, we're helping turn a bold idea into lasting impact for more people in our community.
Only a handful of surgeons in the world can do this surgery. One of them is at @UHN.
When Maria was 18, doctors found a rare tumour in her heart that had likely been there since she was a baby. Removing it required an incredibly rare operation, one that very few surgeons have the experience to perform. Dr. RJ Cusimano, a cardiac surgeon at @PMunkCardiacCtr, was one of them.
Today, he’s helping patients with some of the rarest and most complex heart conditions while also sharing his expertise with surgeons around the world. Because when it comes to rare diseases, advancing care takes a global effort.🫀
#WorldHeartDay
What does it take to change the future of health care? Some of the world's best clinicians. Brilliant researchers. Courageous patients. And a community that believes anything is possible.
The people of @UHN show us every day that progress is powered by collaboration. When patients, care teams, researchers, donors and supporters come together, lives are changed. At UHN, that's not just our vision. It's our reality.
That's what it means to be #UHNITED.
Imagine seeing a social media post that could save someone's life.
When Mike came across a longtime family friend's search for a kidney donor, he couldn't stop thinking about it. He talked it over with his family, volunteered to be tested, and against the odds, turned out to be a match.
But what stayed with him most wasn't the surgery. It was learning how many people spend months or years searching for a donor, often sharing deeply personal details and hoping the right person sees their story.
Today, Mike is sharing his experience to raise awareness about living organ donation and the life-changing difference one person can make.💙

🚴💙 What a ride!
Thanks to the incredible Tour de Bleu community, 48 riders came together and raised $6.9 million to support innovation in neuroregeneration and regenerative therapeutics at @UHN's @KBI_UHN.
Powered by a shared commitment to advancing brain health, every kilometre cycled and every dollar raised helps bring new possibilities closer for patients and families. Here's to the Peter Gilgan Foundation, Mattamy Homes, the riders, supporters, sponsors and volunteers who went the distance for a future filled with more breakthroughs.
This is what the future of surgery looks like.
A new surgical tower. Advanced technology. Patient-centred care. And more opportunities to deliver life-changing treatment.
Coming to Toronto Western Hospital in 2028, thanks to our partners and the generosity of donors like you.
100 UHN nurses swapped scrubs for jerseys and headed to the @BlueJays game! ⚾💙
We're so grateful to @PalmHoldings1, Anish Taneja, Anil Taneja, Rajan Taneja and family for generously donating tickets and for recognizing the dedication, compassion, and heart our nurses bring to patient care every single day.
Here's to 100 amazing nurses, a night at the ballpark, and a very well deserved thank you!
The impact of the 7th UHN West Park Golf Classic goes well beyond the green. Together 136 golfers, 44 sponsors and our incredible community raised more than $300,000 in support of rehabilitation care at @UHN's West Park Healthcare Centre.
A huge thank you to every golfer, volunteer and supporter, including our committee members Paul Collings, Derrick Phelps and Mitchell Ross, who helped make the day such a success. Your generosity is helping patients regain strength and confidence as they move forward on their recovery journey. We couldn't do it without you. 💙⛳
