At the 6th UN Forum Of Mayors @UNECE, @uclg_org President and Mayor of @Konyabuyuksehir @u_ibrahim_altay highlighted the strengthened relationship between UCLG and UNECE.
A relationship that exemplifies what today’s multilateralism needs to be: one that needs to rise to the challenges of our times.
As Special Envoy for Local and Regional Governments at @turkiyecop31, President Altay further called to understand housing as a human right and a public good, and to incorporate the climate perspective into housing plans.
A fruitful exchange with UNECE Executive Secretary Tatiana Molcean on strengthening cooperation with UCLG, advancing housing finance and social housing, accelerating SDG implementation, and empowering local governments.
We look forward to building on this cooperation at #COP31.

We attended the “Real Momentum, Tangible Transformation” program during New York Climate Week, where First Lady Emine Erdoğan delivered the opening remarks.
New York İklim Haftası 2026’nın Açılış Töreni’nde, ortak evimiz dünya için sorumluluk üstlenen değerli isimlerle bir arada olmaktan büyük bir memnuniyet duydum.
İnsan faaliyetlerinin yeryüzünde bıraktığı ağır yükün en görünür sonuçlarından biri olan iklim değişikliği karşısında izlenecek yolu değerlendirdik.
İnanıyorum ki çözüm, atıklarımızla birlikte alışkanlıklarımızdaki aşırılıkları azaltmaktan; sistemlerle birlikte zihniyetimizi de değiştirmekten geçiyor.
