✍️📕 What happens to a writer's sense of themselves when they learn they preferred AI writing over human writing? ✍️📕 #CHI2026
We recruited MFA writers from top programs to emulate critically acclaimed authors, including Nobel laureates and Booker Prize winners. Judges saw one MFA-written and one AI-written excerpt side by side, with no indication of which was which. When we fine-tuned the model on each author's complete works, expert judges preferred the AI 62% of the time for writing quality and 81% for stylistic fidelity.
