It’s funny how everyone is using the riots in France to argue that socialism doesn’t work when in fact it’s neoliberalism destroying socialism that’s the problem.
They would never let you back in without giving up the British Pound.. would be economic suicide for your country to do so.
Brexit has been catastrophic. It's time to rejoin the EU.

They’re calling her the AM-EX Ambassador here in Greece! Ha!
Serving as the United States Ambassador to Greece has been the honor of a lifetime. I will forever be grateful to President Donald J. Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio for entrusting me with the extraordinary privilege of representing the greatest country in the history of the world.
From my first day as Ambassador, I have worked tirelessly to advance President Trump’s America First agenda, strengthen our strategic alliance with Greece, and deliver meaningful victories for the American people.
During my tenure, we have helped secure historic agreements to expand American liquefied natural gas exports to Europe, advanced the Vertical Corridor to reduce Europe’s dependence on Russian energy, strengthened our defense and security partnership with a critical NATO ally, and expanded opportunities for American businesses and investment throughout the region.
I am especially proud of the role our Embassy has played in strengthening American energy dominance, advancing economic cooperation, and ensuring that the United States remains the indispensable leader in Southeast Europe.
These accomplishments are a testament to President Trump’s bold leadership, Secretary Rubio’s commitment to American diplomacy, and the extraordinary men and women who serve our country every day.
I also want to address the recent allegations against me. These allegations are false, and I intend to vigorously defend my name, my reputation, and my integrity. I have dedicated my professional life to fighting for justice, standing up for what is right, and defending the values that make America exceptional. I will not allow false accusations to define my decades of public service.
My gratitude and respect for President Trump and Secretary Rubio remain unwavering. I am proud of what we accomplished together, and I will always be a loyal supporter of President Trump and his mission to Make America Great Again.
While my time as Ambassador may be coming to an end, my commitment to President Trump, the America First movement, and the country I love will never end.
It has been the honor of my lifetime to serve the United States of America. My deepest heartfelt appreciation to the people of Greece for their hospitality, partnership, and welcoming me with open arms. God bless President Trump, God bless our incredible diplomats and service members, and God bless the United States of America.
So well presented. We need to do away with the idea that governments “need to borrow” even the idea that they need to issue bonds when they create money. It’s been done before with no compounding interest and the only reason we don’t do it is because bankers want the interest payments as income!
England ran a money system with no debt and no interest for centuries. A banking professor sat at a table in 2011 and explained why it ended.
Richard Werner, in conversation, 2 chairs and a jug of water.
The instrument was a wooden stick, split down the middle. Winchester was the centre of it, close to 1000 years ago. The Treasury accepted it for tax.
Then it went away, and the private version took over.
Watch the stretch where he names who found the old system inconvenient, and why that preference still sets your tax bill.
A red pencil, loose papers, a phone on the table.
The alternative is not theoretical. It already ran, and it worked.
Interesting.. people starting to understand that if you raise the cost of borrowing money it might lead to greater inflation!
The presumption that the Fed raising short-term rates reduces inflation is predicated on the belief that higher rates reduce demand and investment.
But what if higher rates don’t reduce demand and investment because the demand for intelligence and energy is unaffected by higher rates because winning the race for super intelligence has a near infinite ROI and the demand for compute will remain incalculable.
Why won’t higher rates at this unique moment in history therefore lead to more inflation as interest costs are embedded in everything?
And the problem is compounded as the more the Fed raises rates, the more inflation we will have and the more the Fed will need to raise rates further and so on.
But what if the old models don’t apply to the current paradigm and the Fed is wrong?
I think the Fed might have just made a mistake. Am I right or am I wrong?
This is not a good thing, people need to understand.

While we watch China spend and invest in their future without being beholden to the bond markets, our new endeavor will be sure to do more of the same thing the EU has been doing, only this time we’ll make war top priority, because you can always create money for war!
If we were to create money to pay for jobs, address climate change, pay for healthcare and education, that would be bad for bond holders, so we will continue to restrict that.
An announcement: Under the leadership of Mario Draghi and @patrickc we have set up the Rhine Group: policymakers, economists, entrepreneurs and business people pushing European reforms and the Draghi agenda.

Danny Filippidis, a firefighter from Toronto, vanished while skiing with friends in Lake Placid, New York, in February 2018. Six days later, he turned up across the country in Sacramento, California, still wearing his ski gear and with no memory of how he got there. He had no identification, only a credit card, and eventually managed to call his wife after remembering her number. His disappearance sparked a large search, but how he traveled over 3,000 kilometers remains a mystery.
Doctors believe Filippidis suffered a head injury on the slopes that caused severe memory loss. They concluded he likely sustained a concussion but said he would recover physically. Experts explained that the brain injury may have caused both retrograde and anterograde amnesia, wiping out his memory of events before and after the accident. However, others think his case might involve a dissociative fugue, a psychological condition that can trigger sudden travel and memory loss after trauma.
Filippidis recalls waking up cold and sore, then hitching a ride with a truck driver who told him they were in Utah. His next memory was being dropped off in Sacramento. He still cannot remember the missing days, and the driver who gave him the ride was never identified.
Medical specialists say the human brain remains unpredictable when it comes to concussion and memory. Some people recover fully, while others regain only fragments of lost time. Filippidis has returned to work as a captain with Toronto Fire Services, but much of what happened during those six missing days may never be known.
