Illegal Bangladeshis who have repeatedly voted in Indian elections confess on @IndiaToday camera as they leave Bengal due to Special Intensive Revision *SIR* of Electoral Rolls in Bengal.
Not one, not two several `ILLEGAL BANGLADESHIS' show their voter I-card as they leave Bharat
A heated exchange broke out between India Today's @gauravcsawant and @sardesairajdeep during a debate on the voting rights of alleged Bangladeshi and Rohingya immigrants in India. While Sawant claimed that they would not be allowed to vote, Sardesai questioned the evidence behind the claims and sought details. The discussion escalated as both exchanged sharp remarks, with the debate ending on the note that the truth would come out.

The exact kind of quote that will be denied when the usage actually comes. This concept of analysing long term investment returns by some really short term usage metric is the "sansani khes" disease of journalism.
But it's also why we didn't invest in AI a decade back.
To suggest that a country should build expensive infrastructure without forward planning or usage modelling is the mirror image of say Lalu saying in the 90s that we should not build infrastructure at all.
Please only build if you can reliably model that usage will come. Public monies is not an unlimited asset. It should be deployed in the most efficient manner possible.

BJP Opposed Farakka Treaty, Passed Resolution, Led March in 1996
Excellent essay on India’s two major water treaties: Indus and Farakka, and the way forward.
The Farakka water treaty with Bangladesh was signed by the UF Govt in Dec 1996. Architect of that giveaway was EAM Inder Gujral (who also got rid of India’s assets in Pakistan). The only party which aggressively supported the Treaty was CPI(M). In fact Jyoti Basu was more enthusiastic in pushing the Treaty than Dhaka.
As main Opposition led by LK Advani and AB Vajpayee the BJP opposed the Treaty tooth-and-nail for three reasons: it would harm Bihar’s farm interests; it would severely impact West Bengal farming and Calcutta Port; it would be seen by Dhaka as a concession by Delhi with Bangladesh conceding nothing.
Advani Ji led a ‘Jal Yatra’ to Farakka, one of the largest gatherings in those days of Left dominance in West Bengal.
All the reasons are as valid today as in 1996. The BJP statements and speeches in Parliament and outside and the resolution/s stand un-negated.
Farakka Treaty was, is and will always be against the interests of West Bengal as well as Bihar. Candy floss coating will not change this fact.
India’s Ganges Water-Sharing Treaty with Bangladesh is set to expire soon on December 12, while the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan has been placed “in abeyance” indefinitely. Both these treaties confer rights without establishing corresponding responsibilities for downstream Pakistan and Bangladesh. Yet rights should come with duties, including obligations to uphold peace and security.
In this essay, I suggest how India can embed new water-sharing arrangements with Pakistan and Bangladesh in separate peace frameworks by emulating the Israel-Jordan model. If Pakistan and Bangladesh want India to do what China refuses — agree to long-term sharing of river waters with any downstream state — they must at least accept verifiable commitments to peace under new water-for-peace arrangements.
Water should become a peace dividend, not an unconditional entitlement. It must become a key incentive that sustains subcontinental peace itself. openthemagazine.com/india/wa…

These buggies are meant for senior citizens and passengers with disabilities. At @DelhiAirport they are never available as they are invariably deployed for VVIPS, VIPs, their children, inlaws, staff and hand baggage that fills up half the aircraft’s cabin space.

Naxals and later Maoists ran ‘Kangaroo Courts’ to ‘impeach’ and ‘punish’, often by public execution, those who opposed their diabolical ideology.
Modi Govt has cleansed India of Maoists. So Congress is stepping in to fill the empty space: This isn’t Opposition; it is Maoists 2.0
In our effort to save the Constitution and defeat the Vote Chors, INDIA bloc will be holding a crucial Public Impeachment proceeding on 30th October - where the public’s verdict to remove the Vote Chor CEC Gyanesh Kumar will be delivered loud and clear.
After this Public Impeachment, we will hold a Dilli Chalo March against Vote Chori culminating at Ramleela Maidan on November 1st, where at least a million concerned citizens will participate.
Hon’ble INC President Sh. Mallikarjun @kharge ji has reached out to all INDIA Bloc parties requesting their leaders and members are present in Delhi during this period in full force.

Something huge happened in Indian geopolitics over the last 7 days, and most people didn't even notice.
IT WILL GO DOWN IN HISTORY BOOKS
- America was looking for a crude oil refinery for Venezuelan oil.
- Only Indian refineries were geopolitically safe, cheap, and well connected.
- America had no other option than to deal with India to refine its oil.
- But they knew that refining oil in India meant India would control their oil exports and could threaten them over other things.
- The only way to overcome this issue was to install a puppet government, and refine oil without any major threat.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
- That's why they planted CJP, amplified their reach with help of Meta and X, suppressed Indian right wing posts, made Congress, AAP & whole left wing to unite and push for regime change.
- They went all in, but still, the masses in India didn't even care and all the protests flopped. People of this country only see Narendra Modi as a capable PM candidate.
- America knew that it wouldn't be able to bring about regime change this quickly and that it would take a hell of a lot of time.
- They had no option left, so without wasting any more time, they finally proposed a deal to India.
- All the protests have gone immediately silent since then.
- Most of the tariffs have been lifted from India.
- America gave India the green signal to buy Russian oil.
Now, if the deal gets finalised, India will have America by the neck. And it would be a golden opportunity for India to grow and export globally.
This is literally the biggest geopolitical win we have had in this decade.

If you are so sure huge no of people have been left out, where are they? Pl produce a fair no before the courts. Empty talk had no value. You are a total disgrace as a former CEC. Lying disgraceful SY Quraishi should have been asked how he changed the rules of voter roll inclusion and exclusion while he was CEC — he made it easy for Bangladeshi Muslims to enrol; he made it virtually impossible to delete their names once enrolled.
He rose on merit? 😳😂🤣😂
How Mr Gyanesh Kumar Was Appointed The Chief Election Commissioner?
“He was not even found fit for the Additional Secretary panel. Later he was also found unfit for the Secretary panel.”
In a wide-ranging interview with me for the London Vārta podcast, former Chief Election Commissioner S.Y. Quraishi turns his attention to the man currently under fire from the opposition in India: Gyanesh Kumar, the serving CEC.
So how did he get the job? Mr Quraishi does not mince his words.
He says: “What is known about this gentleman is that he was very close to Amit Shah. Extremely close—he worked under him in the Home Ministry. He was one of the architects of the removal of Article 370 in Kashmir… Besides that, when the Ram Mandir Trust was being formed, he was the one who set it up.”
“According to reports, he was not even found fit for the Additional Secretary panel. Later he was also found unfit for the Secretary panel. But because he had worked so closely with Amit Shah… pressure was applied… and he was made Secretary in the Ministry of Cooperation, of which Amit Shah was the minister.”
On the formal selection process itself: “In 2023, the selection of the Chief Election Commissioner had to be made… under the new Act the government called three people to consider the names. One was Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He nominated Amit Shah—the person closest to him, his companion—and the Leader of the Opposition. And Gyanesh Kumar was selected.”
The full conversation, covering the Election Commission, the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, and much more, is on the London Vārta podcast.
