🇪🇭 Mappa della geografia calcistica del Sahara Occidentale realizzata da me 🇪🇭
There is no politics in my maps; I simply describe football as it is. Thank you for understanding.
Western Sahara is a North African territory disputed between Morocco and the Polisario Front, which declared its independence through the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR).
Although Morocco has occupied much of this territory since 1975 (with local teams playing within the Moroccan football system), the Sahrawi population continues to live in the area, primarily east of the borders reclaimed by the independence movement known as the Polisario Front. However, the war caused the destruction of many settlements in the reclaimed zone; consequently, most Sahrawi refugees live in camps near the city of Tindouf, Algeria, while others have been forced to flee to Spain and other European countries, creating a genuine diaspora.
The resilience of the Sahrawi people has, however, been kept alive through football as well, thanks to the establishment of the Federación Saharaui de Deportes (Sahrawi Sports Federation). The organization first affiliated with the NF-Board and later with CONIFA. In collaboration with the @oficialfsd SADR's Ministry of Occupied Territories and Diaspora and the Ministry of Youth and Sport, it strives to keep the Sahrawi cause alive by organizing the Copa RASD, a tournament played in Spain and France featuring Sahrawi diaspora teams from across Europe.
The most recent edition of the tournament, held in Spain in 2022, saw the participation of six teams from France, the Basque Country, and Andalusia.
Official tournaments are organized in the refugee camps around Tindouf, involving numerous teams from all five camps: the Republic Cup (played on February 27), a second tournament on May 20, and the Sheikh Khatri Memorial Tournament—all of which are knockout competitions featuring regional qualifiers leading up to a final stage. The first genuine league championship between refugee camp teams is also about to begin.

What would you do if your national soccer federation sent you a package without telling you what it was?
We wanted some of our Men's and Women's National Team players to be the first to see the new Limited Edition home shirt by WOVN
Inside the presentation box was a letter explaining that our goal is to become the 212th FIFA Member Association, and the next step is playing a match in the Marshall Islands in 2027 - and that this shirt will fund that event.
Each shirt comes with an invite to the 212 Club, giving our supporters the chance to directly impact our mission to @FIFAcom recognition
Rumblings from Tuvalu in a growing confidence of full OFC Membership, based on an interview with ABC Australia.
Also, a possible tournament on the horizon in Auckland to involve them and Kiribati!
Of course, the vote on full membership will be at OFC Congress March 2027, so...
The Treasurer of @kirifootball isn't fucking around.

Looking at the titles of nobility for @SealandGov has me wondering who the highest ranking royal to ever play football could be.
I have photographic proof of the King of Bhutan playing with some kids, so that's a good start...

🇮🇳 Mappa della geografia calcistica delle Isole Laccadive e delle Isole Andamane e Nicobare realizzate da me 🇮🇳
The #Lakshadweep Islands and the #Andaman and #Nicobar Islands are the two main Indian archipelagos, located respectively in the Lakshadweep Sea (above the Maldives) and the Bay of Bengal (between Malaysia and Myanmar).
Due to their great distance from the mainland and the large number of islands that comprise each of these two archipelagos, there are no professional teams capable of playing in the Indian football system. However, the Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands represent India regularly in the Santosh Trophy, an interstate competition between all the football associations that make up the @AllIndiaFtbl .
At the local level, football is almost amateur:
- In the Lakshadweep Islands, football tournaments are held on the main islands of the archipelago and are organized by the local football associations: #Kavaratti , #Amini , and #Kalpeni . There is also an inter-island football tournament, in which teams from each inhabited island of the archipelago compete annually in the Lakshadweep Games to determine the strongest.
- Football is very active in Andaman and Nicobar: this year, the Andaman Super League was founded, featuring teams from the Andaman Islands, playing a tournament in the capital, Sri Vijaya Puram.
On #CarNicobar , the northernmost island of the Nicobar Islands and the most populous, an annual tournament between local village teams, the NGSA Carnic Football League, is held.
In addition, there are other local tournaments, the most important of which is probably the Vice President of India Cup Soccer Championship, an annual inter-island tournament between teams from both the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

It’s been 1 year since we made history playing our 1st ever international match against the US Virgin Islands. Although we lost 0-4 it was a proud moment for the entire nation.
Since then we’ve been working on taking the next steps, and hope to share some huge updates with you soon 🇲🇭
OH MY GOD YOU'RE ALIVE!

Sorry All! I've been too busy swimming in a haunted lake to bring you a critical update:
Yesterday marked the start of The Greenland Men's Outdoor Championship in Maniitsoq! 🇬🇱
Yesterday's results👇
Kind of shocked at these, honestly.

Hey Gianni. The Pacific Islands need FIFA. FIFA has not done enough to help these nations develop soccer. Micronesia, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Kiribati, Palau, and Tuvalu. They're not even IN the org. All the "Develop Football" talk is suspect until ALL nations are in @FIFAcom

🌍 Not every Full Member of a continental football confederation is also a FIFA member.
This fact is often being overlooked in the current reporting when it comes to tallying votes about the World Cup proposal.
Here is the list of non-FIFA members of a confederation:
AFC:
🇲🇵 Northern Mariana Islands
CONCACAF:
🇧🇶 Bonaire
🇬🇫 French Guiana
🇬🇵 Guadeloupe
🇲🇶 Martinique
🇫🇷 Saint Martin
🇸🇽 Sint Maarten
If you include Associate Members, the CAF duo of Réunion & Zanzibar plus the OFC duo of Kiribati & Tuvalu also apply.
