It is disingenuous for @DevineSean to claim victimhood of 'an organized push from outside to unseat him', while Jeff Leiper's shadow party is doing precisely that for him

Extraordinary response to @MarkCarney speech in European Parliament. Standing ovation from almost all MEPs and huge applause in public gallery. A new world order really is being shaped and it is not how Trump’s USA imagined. It used to be taken as read that the US President led the free world. No more. UK really needs to get fully on board with the big changes taking place. I hope this was discussed at the football last night!! Meanwhile both in our interview with @Ed_Miliband and latest @RestIsPolitics the Carney worldview is on the agenda.
Former Canada Prime Minister Jean Chrétien: "I have message for American friends...never mistake our generosity for weakness. Never mistake our tolerance for lack of determination. And never, never mistake our kindness for softness...We bow to no one."

Jean Chrétien: "It looks like they don't know what to do. When your big thing is to change the name of a lake, it's because you're running out of arguments. It is a very weak gesture, to be cheap and nasty. Lake Ontario is not suffering. It's a lake."

Good morning!
It was on this date, JULY 3rd, 1608…
Samuel deChamplain’s founds a “Habitation”, a wooden fortress with a moat that was later replaced by a more substantial stone fortification in 1620, now Quebec City.
After the battle of 1759 when the British lay siege to Quebec City, most of the fort was in ruins, and in some rebuilding efforts, a mysterious stone was found with a carved cross on it.
It was a relic from the ruins of a former structure used by Knights of Malta on the site…
The Order of the Knights or Malta became powerful in its councils and played a role in the management of North America
By 1636, three Knights of Malta from Europe came across the sea to North America...
De Montmagny commanded New France from the heights of Quebec, Razilly governed Acadia while de Poincy was his King’s representative in the south.
On September 17, 1784, some workmen were busy levelling the ground in the yard of the destroyed French fort when they found the stone.
It was a remnant from a previous structure of the knights in charge of the new town of Quebec.
Château Haldimand was built on the site that stood where the Château Frontenac now stands in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. The building was constructed between 1784 and 1786.
When that was later demolished in 1920 to build Chateau Frontenac, the old knights stone was placed above an arched gateway, that is still there today.
